Does anyone have any tips on getting the motor out of this thing?
Motor mounts won’t clear the fuel tank with the dpf mounted... but it seems like there’s no way to get to the bolts that hold the dpf to the engine with the engine in place?

Question since I’m still a FNG:
Anything I should be looking at or doing while the motor is out?

Thanks, Coaldust.
Is it an issue having dirt and rocks under the fuel tank?... like if a rock got wedged and rubbed a hole in the tank?
Don’t really want to pull the tank but feeling a bit ocd about having everything else clean except for a bunch of crap under/behind tank.

That’s a valid concern. Plastic tanks and abrasion can be expensive. Compressed air and a nozzle might work.

Are these bolts supposed to have rubber around them to dampen things?
Looks either melted off or maybe the plastic wore off and left the residue?

First, the bolts are that, just bolts. That metal sleeve is surrounded by rubber and integral to the coupling.

Thank you!

I had a feeling... found a bunch of ground up rubber packed in the starter gear. Wonder why the rubber basically disappeared?
gotta say I’m surprised the pump connector is made out of plastic and had zero rubber cushioning left.

This is absolutely correct on some models. Hence why the 3000hr service done as per the book costs a small bloody fortune!

Just out of curiosity... is this an FTK s/n prefix?
