Hi Guys, I just got a new to me EC250D and there are a couple of buttons I'm not sure about that I'm hoping you can help me with. Unfortunately, the operator's manual isn't in the machine.

Also, I'm wondering if it's possible to program the buttons on the joystick? Right now, all Ive got is the horn on a button on the left joystick and power boost on one on the right. The machine has a hydraulic thumb that's currently controlled by the far right foot pedal and I'd really like to put it on a couple of the joystick buttons, if that's possible.

I really appreciate any input you guys can offer.

On this first one, I believe the button on the right is the bucket quick connect control but, I have no idea what the button on the left is for.PXL_20210328_150552711.jpg

This next one has a couple of switches under the cover, I'm not really sure what these do. I've tried moving them and haven't noticed any change in anything.

The 2 metal toggles under the cover are for bypass controls, if your V-ECU were to fail. The switch next to the quick coupler iirc is after the bucket has been unlocked, it wants you to verify that the bucket is securely attached. Rocking forward would acknowledge this, rocking rear quiets the alarm but leaves the central warning flashing. Its been a while. In regards to putting proportional control in the joystick. You would have to establish whether or not you have proportional control PWM valves fitted to the machine. Running your sn through prosis should tell you how the machine was equipped when born. If it was dealer added without joystick control is highly unlikely. At least you know you have bi-directional flow. The thumb works.

Thanks for the feedback. Do you have Prosis access? I don't have a login. The S/N is VCE250DK00210171

I really wish they'd put manuals and stuff online, it's pretty stingy to want to charge $$$$ for a replacement manual on a machine as expensive as these are instead of just allowing me to download a PDF file.

Agreed, it should be a free download.
No, I don't have access to prosis anymore. Some of the other guys here have access. I'm confident the info you want will show in a day or so.

You should have 4 button joysticks so if not enabled you would have to have a dealer tech come out and enable the parameter for the 2 top buttons to work the X1 function.
Have you tried the top 2 buttons on the right joystick? Of course there could be an open in the circuit causing them not to work as well

Yes, they're 4 button joysticks, the top 2 on the right side do nothing. The bottom left on the right is the boost and the other does nothing. On the left side, I want to say the bottom left is the horn, otherwise nothing.

The dealer is $700 just to show up and then $150/hr after that. it's not a big enough deal that it's worth spending close to $1,000 on it. If I have to get them out for something else, I'll ask about it, otherwise I'll keep using the pedal. This should be user programmable though, ideally through the management display.

Oh well, the excavator was a good enough deal that I'm not going to get mad about this. :)

Thanks for this. So the bottom right on the right hand side should be what, a float function? As far as I can tell, it's not doing anything right now.

Good day
When float has been engaged you should see a symbol on the display & when you press the boom down the force is only by the weight of the equipment. It may be that your machine is devoid of the float option F with F may able to confirm.
Kind regards
