HI Folks. I have read several of the posts related to the Fuel Shut off solenoid valve and I suspect it is either the solenoid or fuel pump.
I have to pump the fuel bulb a few times to get it to start. It will run anywhere from 2-3 mins to 20 mins the shut off abruptly.
I can pump the bulb and it will start again but then shut of after a few seconds.

Now what confuses me is I can not locate the shut off valve!! It is 28 or 27 .. I am embarrassed to ask such a stupid question but I have looked several time and just can not find it.
Thank you.

I'm guessing both are solenoids but you need to look at you electrical plug to see which one you have. 26 is probably a jumper harness that enables you to use a newer style solenoid or something. Bobcat did that alot.

But first things first I'd check for good voltage at the plug and also change the fuel filter if you have'nt already. Sounds like a fuel supply or low fuel pressure issue to me. That engine should have a lift pump just upstream from the primer bulb that pumps fuel to the injection pump. Might be an issue there.

Yeah, that's just an old style/newer style deal, you will have one or the other, not both, IMO.

2nd the lift pump issue, with key on and engine not running, you should hear it clicking away.

I have ordered a Fuel Shut off solenoid valve since that seems to be the most likely problem. I have replaced the fuel filter and checked the fuel pickup tube in the fuel tank for any trash on the end.
If that does not do it I will replace the lift pump.
Once it is repaired I will post the solution. Thank you all for your advice.

Well it was not the Fuel Shut off solenoid. plus it will only run for a few seconds before shutting down now. Also getting error code 14-02 which is "Fuel shot-off hold solenoid short to battery" . I will chase that down in the next few days to see if it is shorted at the plug to the valve....stay tuned :)

It appears the problem has been solved in a way I am not comfortable with. 14-02 indicates the Fuel Shut-off Hold solenoid is shorted to the battery. What was so strange was it was intermittent. Sometimes it would run for 2-3 mins then shut off with the error code and sometimes it would run 10 mins before shutting off. In addition once it shut off it would not start until allowed to set overnight. I suspect due to being flooded. With information provided by tool_king in this thread it kept looking like there must be a short in the wiring harness I could not see. So I manipulated the wiring harness and repositioned it with hopes it would prevent wires in the harness from touching and causing the error. Sure enough after a pretty aggressive manipulation of the entire wiring harness it started and ran for 30 minutes without shutting off and no error codes. I spent the next few hours periodically starting it and moving it around without it shutting down.

I will continue to "test" it over the next few days and report back what happens.
Special thanks to tool_king for his help.
