I was told buy a guy with a 352H pete with a kta that there was a truck dealer in the Boston area who sold big engine cabover peterbilts, KTA's, 3408 cats, maybe some 12v detroits. He was particular to the paint jobs also, Big Bill, or Big John. There was an industry he was serving with the big engines, produce or steel maybe seafood.

Single rail old limp back freight shaker
Been better off to rerail time and expense wise
Cleaner prettier safer unless unconcerned as to working it
Replaced a number of cracked older freightliner rails years ago not that hard.

Judging of Rt Rr Cab corner may need a little more impetus on cosmetics too

Well if you've got $3,500 burning a hole in your pocket, you can make it into anything you want:

"1987 freightliner cab over. Big cam 400 cummins. 9spd. Rockwell rears 4:11 no idea on miles. I don't have much info. I bought it to build and never got to it interior is in good shape body has a few bumps but overall in good shape. It's about a 285 wheel base. truck located in chelsea, ok. No title.. a title 42 can be filed on it in Oklahoma its less than $200 to do. I just never messed with it. Now Its time to clean house and get rid of projects"

If it runs and drives, big cam trans and rears are worth what he's asking, if you need those things.

I have been looking for that style hood to replace an 81 hood. Correct me if I am wrong, but these trucks were Whites until 83? when the 4964 heritage came out as Western Star as a company. My 81 is a white, and according to the guy in the basement with the microfiech at daimler trucks it is a constelation.

Nomenclature plates on the drivers door {Manufactured by Fruehauf} below that it would say White Truck. I believe until early 80's. White owned Fruehauf at that time.

i have a '79 WHITE-WESTERN STAR 4964 that looks like all the '80s and early 90's western stars ( including the interior) except for the emblem on the side of the hood. around here the constellation cabs didn't come out until the mid to late 90's if i recall correctly. the earlier series is called the HERITAGE cab whenever i order parts

My 81 has shorter doors than the heritage cab, more like Autocar door, I think Corprate Cab Company made them for White, Autocar, Diamond. Autocar guys refer to my cab as a bubble top, where as that 73 has more of a flat top. If I am getting this correctly White sold autocar and it moved to Utah.
