Forget about hooking lets talk about hoes...

With the Shallow Trench Digging attachment the EM Bike will be able to penetrate hard ground up to 9-1/2" deep so you don't have to pay to have it done by a hoe. Optional collection bags can be used to contain the spoils.

Great idea!!! I always like multi-use tools and any time you can sell supplies that are 'keyed' to the hardware it's even better ;) I think we need to get the injuneers looking into an extra deep kit also... that would work on softer soils and non-cohesive soil types...

Oh oh......

So, I have been out for days trying to track down another Unicorn. No luck at all.
I tried amazon and the best I could come up with was this
https://www.amazon.ca/Squatty-Potty-Unicorn-Toilet-Fruity/dp/B01LYLJ36Z?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1&psc=1
Uhhhhhh, nooooooooo

So I decided that I should work on my other Ebike, the one that I ride every day.

Well, not good.
In my excitement of possibly getting out on the road for the first time this year, I connected the phase wires to the motor up wrong. Apparently that is not a good idea.
The controller is blinking angry codes at me, it's done.
I lost at least one Hall Sensor in the hub motor, I'm not sure if there isn't damage inside too, the cable from the controller to the motor was "warm to the touch". Not good at all.
New controller is $380 Canadian but none in stock due to Covid19.
I could replace the hub motor with the exact same as what I have for $400+ but while I really liked it and the performance was excellent, there were a few things that I didn't like, such as the torque arm mount and the fact that the cable came out of the middle of the shaft, very prone to damage, I can only mount a 9 speed freewheel onto it and my shifter is set up for 10 so its not quite right.
If I upgrade to a different hub I get 10 gears back and the torque arm set up it so much better and the cable exits totally different, totally protected. But it is about $700+.

So I might have to step up the search for the Unicorn, might need to get the little one running first.

Bummer wornout wrenchy :(

I do have a bit of good news for you though..... a few years back I had to retrofit a 9speed freewheel into a customers existing 10/12 speed frame... before I took the job I checked with the manufacturer in china about the process and was told' will work most excellently kind sir'..... well when I finally got to doing the job I found that the chinese guy was simply using google translate to convert the text he got form the guy in india they they outsourced the manufacturing to!!! and apparently they say everything will work most excellently kind sir:eek: so ... anyways I found myself all alone in this bewildering project :( but as I sat there staring at it for a couple days in complete disamazement it finally hit me!!! a part of the shifter let go and slammed into my face!!! well, I guess it knocked some sense into me because right then and there I thought if I just slip a couple fender washers from a 1967 honda mini bike in between the cable and holder while also adding a longer spring that I had found while doing the brakes on my 1975 triumph that seemed to be an extra part left in there by the british fellow that assembled it many moons ago... everything would fit good and have the proper tension to select all 9 ranges!!! So I popped all the bits in and voila!!!! it works slicker than a banana peel on the sidewalk in from of a target store :)

I'm calling BS on the Triumph spring. It should have been one from a late 60's Honda 305.

Speaking of the Squatty Potty, I think there is a good opportunity to raise funds for further advancement of the EM Bike. We can sell toilet paper to countries where they are running out. The last thing you want to run out of. Now Squatty Potty is competing with Poo Pourri. Who would have thought??? Makes you wonder how someone came up with the idea... Did they go in after Uncle Tex won the burrito eating contest or they couldn't stand themselves? How would they advertise for product testers? What would their job title be? What's considered a good day at the office? Would anyone try to get warranty because it didn't work for them? On second thought, what a brilliant idea, would never have to worry about product returns.

I just fall back and wonder, could that spring have been in British Standard, they will not convert to Metric or standard so could be the burn up culprit!!

Could be.... the brits arange their springs based on the BSS thread... but the tricky part is they measure them when the half load is applied to the spring in compression so you need a special test/measure fixture that was only available from the New Hudson company until Lucas bought the rights back in the 40's and moved production of the test stands to Birmingham... even then you'll have a jolly time getting them to ship one across the pond!

Triumph springs are wound backwards, due to the fact that they have to drive on the left side of the road.

OM Goodness, just thinking righty tightie lefty loosie except on HD L lug nuts and some old cars, could have had a meltdown in your hands at ANY Moments notice no forewarning!! Scary even with Unicorn oil it would have had to have gone off!!.
