I have been patiently waiting on one of those 60+ page threads again like the good ole days. You know......where someone knows nothing about the machine, wants to rebuild a major component, or troubleshoot issues and everybody gets involved giving advise, opinions, and differences in how to go about things but..........they have been escaping me!
So.....what gives? What has changed? Is the advise that’s been given on repairs just too good and accurate?

I’ll tell you right now, I bought a case of Orville Redenbacher buttered popcorn after the last huge thread. It cost me money and I haven’t even got to open it.o_O

Something just has to give!

I could start one

My neighbor works at a bike shop.
The other day a lady dropped off this little fold up Ebike, said everything worked and if they just wanted to give it a tune up they could donate it to someone needy. Nice gesture, BUT.....

So he calls me up and says of course it doesn't work and they were just going to scrap it, would I want it. Since I am apparently the local ebike guy, I said sure.

So he drops this thing off.
Well it is the cheapest POS you have ever seen. All of the paper work came with it, worth $250 brand new.

I spent a few hours on it last night, repaired the wiring for the charger so it works now, got the battery charged up, repaired the short in the motor cut off switch in the front brake.

But for the life of me, I can't find the Dilithium Chrystals and the Flux Capacitor.

Its a Schwinn AL1020

S/N POS0001

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Is the battery fully charged? 1.21 gigawatts? When this thing reaches 88 mph you’re going to see some serious $hit.
LOL, They got warehouses around here filled to the ceilings with them things!!! literally tens of thousands of em' and most of them go from 1500-3500bux a pop!!! even have threewheelers with dumpbeds on em'.

Gigawatts?
That is so 80's
This thing runs on Terawatts.
I have been on google maps looking for a clock tower close by too, no luck:mad:

This thing might have a turbo encabulator on it.
Anyone still have a good set of Encabulator manuals kicking around?
I lent mine out and the little *&%#$@#$# never brought them back.

I have also been doing some math.
Since it only has 16" wheels on it the 88 mph changes.
So far I have Pie are Squared times E=MC 2 but I keep coming up 42, which as we all know is "Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything"
And I am in Canada so metric. Lets just round it off to 32Kmh and see what happens.

Could someone please pass me a Celsius adjustable wrench.

Geez I got totally lost in Boolean Algebra I would never have been able to arrive at the "Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything"
I think that the Mr. Fusion maintenance and parts manuals available for a small fee on Ebay will have the schematics you will be seeking... :)

You know.

I'm sitting here a little scared right now.

The battery pack is huge. I mean HUGE.

I know it says SLA on it, but pretty sure it is powered with Plutonium or even worse.

UNOBTAINIUM.

That stuff is so powerful. That little battery pack could power a city the size of LA.

If I were to screw up it could short out and all of Vancouver Island could just vanish in a flash.

I have just sent an Email to the Hogwart Library asking if they have any manuals on Magic Wand repair. I broke mine last year. (Well honestly, I think I broke it 45 years ago when I first started pulling wrenches for a living, because it never worked quite right) I figure that if I can get my wand repaired, I could use it to contain the power of the battery.

Or I could use it to whip up a damn good Gin and Tonic...

Well I'm kind of working on a project! Trying to repair a 1957 SunBeam MixMaster Model 12. Anyone know of a good but cheap source of parts.

Seems it has two problems, main one being the speed controller has a broken spring arm that the contacts points are mounted to. Second thing is it appears to have a bad capacitor. Had a lead on a good used speed controller for $10.00 plus shipping so I emailed the guy and asked if he had any good capacitors. That was over a week ago!

Did locate another guy who had the speed controller but he is asking $24.95 plus shipping. And to add to it he said he was starting chemo last Monday so no telling if or when I can hear from him again.

And don't anyone mention this to my wife she would start the paperwork to have me committed. She thinks I should just buy a new one! Especially as I have one that is working good right now!

One thing I can guarantee is in the year 2081 there will not be anyone looking for parts to fix a 2019 Sunbeam Mixer! Be lucky if you can buy parts for one next year!

So I found this old Cat D6 or D7 for a really good deal, got it home and it did fine for couple of hours . Then the engine started making a knocking noise. I tried to tell where the noise was coming but could not tell exactly, so I kept running it and the noise only got worse. So, since I was a good ways from the house, i decided to get on back, but about half way it belched some black smoke and stalled out and won't turn over anymore. My buddy says it is probably the starter since it work turn over. Wooo... Cat wants a lot for that starter. Think I might change the engine oil at the same time to see if that helps.
