Where is the best place to have the transmission rebuild for this A25D? I have pieces of clutch in the pan.

There is a place outside of normal channels that offers a great exchange program or they can rebuild yours. PM me if you're interested. I don't want to cross a line .

Any pointers on the transmission removal? It is in the shop, bellypan is off, fluids are drained. And the fun will begin in the morning. Thanks.

Pull the interior, seat and floor covering. Remove the floor pans. Run a crane job through the door opening. Use lift eyes or clevis to secure to 4 lift points. Tie drop box back toward articulation joint. Remove prop shaft. Remove filter head from RS. Lower trans down and out . Note that you will have to go near vertical with trans to go down, some guys have been successful pulling up through the cab and out the door with both knuckle boom and tele boom cranes.
Good luck.

Its an Allison trans. Contact these guys below and see if they can help. They been able to get me torque converters for JD and Volvo Art Dumps before.

Need to get info off the tag on the RH side of trans were the trans connector is at. There is an allison tag. its most likely a 4500

Not sure where your information is from but as far as I've always known, the Volvo PT range transmissions are in house, the last time an Allison trans was used was in the old 5350B's after that it's ZF until the D's when it went in house Volvo, until the A60H which is back full circle to Allison!

Well sorry, I was actually assuming based on the style and look of it, not actual facts. I know alot of them all just use Allison cause they are reliable, strong, small, easy to adapt too, easy to get parts and also rebuild.
