Went out with the lil loader, this AM, in the box trailer, to push some dirt at my brother's place, a mile down the road. As I turned right onto the state road, I see the drivers side front wheel, on the box trailer snap off! Turned around about a tenth of a mile, limped back home, unloaded the loader, disconnected the trailer, took the loader, drug the flatbed outta the woods, aired up the tires, noticed dry rot and a serious flat spot, on 1 tire. AND, rear leaf spring busted! Pushed my dirt, unloaded, worked on another project fer a coupla hours, then after lunch, started in on the tire and spring. 1st thing, a frozen then quickly stripped lug nut, OK, no BFD, I'll re-thread, and steal a nut from the other(useless) trailer. both wheels off, plenty of room from the side picked up back with loader, installed jack stand. Only gotta get them 2 rusted spring bolts out, to save time, went ugly, early, ground the heads offa both of 'em, with the 18V grinder. 1 end of spring is free now, had the grinder handy, so cut the U bolts off, too! Last bolt now headless, wouldn't have the decency to spin, so I tried punchin, then drillin through with a unibit. Figgered that would take more time than there is, so I got out the sawzall, and rounded up a blade, from a box lot, from an auction. Sawzalled for about 10 minutes, and I was through the outside end of the spring pin. as I pulled the blade out, the spring rotated down and I trued the punch, again, and SUCCESS! all parts layin on the fender, awaiting tomorrow's trek to the trailer place, where they'll prolly tell me we can have it fer ya in a week!
And now fer what I been waitin fer, all day, A SHOWER!
