Hi Nitelite, just read the entire thread over a week or so.
You certainly are an inspiration and the best of luck to you.
Two things that I thought you would find interesting.
1. I saw a 6x6 truck advertised for sale over here in Australia the other day and the photos and specs were identical to yours. They were ONLY asking $50k as well, but I suppose it is supply and demand, there wouldn't be much of a supply over here.
2. Amongst other machines I have a JCB backhoe, a few days ago I had the exact same symptoms with the crowd rams. I kept working it an 1/2 hr later one of the seals blew out and oil was shooting out like a garden hose. One of the rams had a slight weep previously but that was all. So be extra careful with people and objects around the 955 til you get the seals done.
Again I enjoyed the read and I hope your arm fully heals up quickly from now on.
Thanks Brett

James, if you were closer I'd say come put some hours on my 955! It's dry here, perfect for dirt-work, and I'm so busy with work and a 50th anniversary (in-laws, not mine!) that I haven't found enough time to do anything but watch the rattletrap idle in the shed! Sigh. I did get to play on the sawmill Saturday (beautiful--sunny and 70) but that was about it. At least I know I can make boards-to-order. :) My wife reminded me that I still need to make a vanity, shelf, and cabinet for our bath before building all the cabinets for the kitchen remodel--not to mention the workbench and miter-saw station I'm working on.... I wish I had your woodworking skills closer to hand! Oh, well, the fun never ends. Put that 2x4 to good use! I'm presuming it was a 12 footer. Maybe 16 if you were daring!

did you even reinstall a kitchen countertop?

The arm has mostly healed, still gets sore with prolonged use. I have been giving the 951 a workout lately. That old machine is really tough and has been virtually trouble free since the engine overhaul and new track chains and sprockets. Worst task is using the grease gun on all of those many fittings. The machine has paid its way out many times over. I will be pushing up brush piles tomorrow for burning.

I can't report on any repairs because there havn't been any break downs. Not on the D4 or the 951. My tools are rusting, and that is no bad thing.

Nitelite,

Glad to hear the machines are going strong! Doing the repairs right sure makes them last, a long with taking care of them after the repairs.

Hi, Nitelight, get yourself a battery powered grease gun, it will be a godsend for your arm

bccat, I use a air powered grease gun. My son uses a battery powered gun. The big difference is getting out the air hose and firing up the compressor. I just need to park within hose distance of the machines. I just might consider the battery powered gun next time I see them on sale.

Good to hear from you kshansen.

I was following his post also. I am planning to have a kitchen remodel also. Do you know a good store for kitchen countertops? Any advice too for kitchen remodeling ideas?
Good luck on your kitchen remodel bro. Try to have a quartzite. You'll definitely be going to love that countertop. If you're looking for a store nearby and their other info's, you should check quartzite countertop cost. You can also check for their address and all other contact information there. Hope this helps!

Allways a good read Nitelite.
I guess this shutdown gives us all time to catch up.
I’ve still got a D8T ripping up a quarry here in the UK during the lockdown and a D9T in the yard that I’m tinkering with.
