Madill Bunchers?

I have a chunk of time being around the loaders and swingers; was always impressed with the serviceability and stoutness for racking up hours.

In the market for a used buncher to get going on my own, didn't know how fast I should be running from the thought of snagging a 2200 or 2250 tilter? Most of the machines are in that 15xxx-20xxx hour range for my budget.

Just curious if there's anything serious to watch out for on these machines compared to others. Otherwise looks like it'll be a Timbco…

If you have quite a bit of work lined up don't even mess around with a used buncher. My first one was a used machine and it would have driven me to Bankruptcy Court have I not gotten rid of it and bought a new one.

Madill have stopped making FBs which might mean they are a legacy product rather than a focus product now.

See the issues Logger Wage has had with the JD FB, replaced close to every hose on the machine, a valve bank has started leaking majorly in a recent vid. (Now we blowed our top!!!)

Get a better chainsaw? - some of the new release chainsaws from the big brands over the past year have fairly good performance.
Chile firewood - TC LS855C with 5195 with T-Winch (gets silly after 10 mins with the vid reversed)

In all fairness, that machine is too small for the wood they’re handling, and they are beating the hell out of it because of that. Also, it was a used machine that seemed to have been a bit abused.

I don’t know about you guys but I’ve never seen a dealer for Eltec.

Eltec is a fairly new company but they have some dealers out there and they are a very well built machine. They started out by buying the Volvo Feller buncher and made some huge improvements

Nope, never seen an Eltec in the woods either. After my little run with the Barko, I will never have another machine that does not have excellent top-notch Factory support in our area.

Eltec are only putting out about 40 machines a year. They probably would not wish to sell a machine into an area where they cannot find a service provider to give top level back up. only the 2nd eltec tilter made, with 750 woodsman pro 750 processing head in one of nz's tougher forests.
