Yeah I have two standard aluminum 4 battery-battery boxes that I'm going to convert into steps. I have access to a bunch of aluminum step material.

This is how it all started, me trying to keep up with Truck shop in the V10 Ford. He was on a mission. Got a lot more pics of the day he picked it up.
The second pic is the Mack on it's way to it's new home.

Did you totally rebuild it or is it a good used engine? My guess is you went through every thing. The black and silver detail looks great together.

Thanks, but there are a bunch of damn smart mechanics on this web site. Especially when it comes to Cat stuff Nige and C Mark are pretty sharp.

Correct, BC II 400 and a RTO12515 spd. The engine I disassembled and inspected, replaced liner O-rings, gaskets and seals, main and rod bearings. Cam and followers, heads, block, crank
and pistons were in good shape. The gear box I disassembled and replaced a few bearings and resealed. Only had $1,150 in engine and $300 in the transmission.

If you look at the photo below and picture in your mind the hood cowl seam moved back to where the middle of the vent window is. That is about 16", which is what I'm adding
to the length of the hood. The hood will be roughly 76" long. Which leaves plenty of room to lower the air cleaners like the drawing below

I know you want be your own dog... but with a hood like that, a set of big dual pipes would fit the proportions well.

Have run into a snag with the guy doing the body work----He hasn't done any work in two months. So he is done and I will retrieve the cab and parts, and see if I can find someone else
worth a sh!t to finish it. But I'm not surprised really, few bodymen are very reliable most are fairly shiftless or drunks. It will probably set me back a good year now and actually I'm ready to
assemble the cab, install engine and transmission then set cab in-place.

That sucks. I do know a guy up this way that is good. He took the crumples out of a Peterbilt hood and nose and you cant tell it was ever touched. Last I heard he had some serious surgery but should be good to go soon.

Guess some of it could be from sniffing the fumes in a body shop! Just a quick walk through most body shops will have my head spinning. Can't imagine breathing that stuff for 8 to 10 hours everyday.

For me that's not much of an excuse, with me you take a job you damn well finish it. But who known's I might just rat rod the rest of it to create a sharp contrast from frame to cab.

I knew I could elicit a cringe with a rat rod. Actually it will all probably go into storage because of medical problems I have going on at the moment. And finding someone who can
do body work locally is not easy. And I'm not going to ship body parts all over hell's half acre to get it done. I want to get it done and move on.
