I agree with the above comments...It is a big project and requires lots of resources and connections. It can be done tho.Nothing on the truck is that rare. The mechanical is easy to deal with, the steel is .110 thick and can be welded.I have drawings for the fenders. The sand blasting and paint will add up as well as the electrical and airbag system...In the end it all adds up..Project best suited for a well rounded skilled guy or for a company to buy as a company truck..

HA!!! More like $2200.00!!

I don't know.

Where are you going to find another one? I realize its not in great shape, and would take a lot of $ to fix, but, there's just not that many of them. If you want something that not anyone else has, I don't think he's out of line.

Look at what a rusted out 1968 camaro will bring. And they are all over compared to the number of these out there.

There's 2001 dodge 1 tons/ cummins by me with 250,000 miles on them in worse shape, that guys want $12,000 for, some want over $16,000. And they aren't rare at all.

Oh I understand but it has to be something desirable. Many people want 68 Camaros but they're not getting that for a base model rusted out Camaro. They're only getting big numbers for an RS SS 396 car or something.
I just don't see kit cars pulling in big numbers is all.

I check my latest NADA book for trucks and while it doesn't show a Grizzly manufacturer and it only goes back to 2009 it does show Ford F750 Crew Cab and Dodge Ram 5500 Quad cabs and chassis with retail asking prices of $22,825 and $23,375. Ten years older with name brand and you can figure half that for retail asking. I'd figure a sale at between $8,000 and $9,000 for name brand and somewhat less for the Grizzly.

What does the value of kit cars have to do with Grizzly's??????

Because a Grizzly is basically a kit vehicle. It was a specialty assembled vehicle on other manufacturers chassis and running gear that there were very limited numbers of. Didn't you say they only produced 20 of them?

That begs an interesting question. Is there a allowed build amount of units on the Manufacturer Certificate? Could it be a situation similar to the Shelby Mustang back in the 80's when Beverly Hills Mustang complete d like 12 more 66's because the cert numbers weren't built out and if I remember correctly they bought the rights from Caroll Shelby. Could you buy the rights and produce more 1990 Grizzlys

There were some Shelby Cobra's (continuation cars) built on supposedly left over 1965 chassis but it was a farce. They used CSX serial numbers from 1966 but weren't 1966 cars. I think only about a dozen were built and then they called them replica's. I believe the idea was to get around the emissions at the time. I remember reading about it and the guy from AC cars (Brian Angliss) and Carol Shelby had heated debates over it and the Cobra name. Angliss took over AC and made Autokraft cars with original AC tooling but they were a little different than the actual Cobra's.

Exactly. Before Jay Brunk ever turned a nut, the controversy was on! At the time we owned a Boss 429 and we had to wonder if someone was going to materialize out of no where and start building more Bosses. It is almost 40 years later and they are still arguing about them and their lineage

Hello Cory,
I’m interested in the burgundy truck in Qualicum if it’s still for sale. Could you pass along the sellers info or point me in the direction of anything else that might be for sale. Even if it’s just cab/hood/fenders.
Thanks.

There were only 13 trucks built.Contrary to the internet story's I have yet to find one on another manufacture chassis other that the Gibson truck and it is on a Ford chassis. The last truck even has a hand built Grizzly frame.I have found 11 of the 13 trucks...So far I have yet to find a Dodge chassis under a truck....

I built 427 Cobra replicars in the early 90's for 2 different companys and I remember all of this...I disliked the man after this( your story) and neither of my Mustangs have anything on them that said Cobra or Shelby..I remember it all to well....

Yeah, he tried to pull a fast one and got called out by someone in the know. However, Brian Angliss sounds like a bit of a douchebag. A Cobra is still an awesome car though.

Yes and Yes...I built them for 2 different companys and I helped a lot of people do theirs. Both square tube cars and oem round tube style chassis..99.9% of all the cars running around with a signed dash were never sat in by the man...In the end he would sign and authorize a toilet seat if you paid him the $200.00.

Even in reading about him he first claims it's not about money but then it seems to be about money. Maybe he just wanted his 15 minutes of fame to last longer and tried to take advantage of it or just had an ego and got greedy. He did some great things but then did some shady things.

2009 f series sales 413,625 units.
Grizzly 13 units.
I think that about sums up using NADA price reference .
Demand refers to how much (quantity) of a product or service is desired by buyers. The quantity demanded is the amount of a product people are willing to buy at a certain price; the relationship between price and quantity demanded is known as the demand relationship. Supply represents how much the market can offer.

22k for one of 13 unique vehicles from a local company and a interesting bit of history seems reasonable to me. As it stands now there are only 10 people (correct me if im wrong diamondtguy)| one the planet that can say they own one there will not be any more

What you are talking about is sentimental value which is what a collector might consider. No demand has been demonstrated outside of the posters on this site. As such the asset has limited demand and the ages of any found would mean limited utility as well. All that would be found would be considered core units needing a lot of rebuild with limited resources for parts and maybe skilled labor. I put together a scenario based on the utility of the vehicle and the market data of an internationally accepted publication. Just because an item is rare doesn't mean that it is valuable. It also doesn't mean it is collectible.
