any body put any serious hours on one of these,how was the track life,was it trouble free.they have been out since 2010 so i would think some have 10000 hrs now. if any body's saw one with these kind of hours was it a worn out or still going strong?

I have a 2011 with 3400hrs great pusher handles well built. stout, quiet, track cleaning very sub par my only complaint.non def machine

Had new rails at 2900hrs we're not completely gone but dealer replaced

sounds like this machine came with system 1 undercarriage, if so can it be changed over to the heavy duty chains rollers idlers?

Landfill i worked at has one they are no good for waste handling, was very quiet and very fuel efficient , track life was average for landfill use , it was not system 1 . Drive motor and generator repair is extremely costly

I am hearing lots good except two things. Undercarriage life is sub standard, and resale value is terrible. My dealer has one, simply can not move it. Demand was never great on D7Rs in general, the E is worse.

i wonder how long the electric component life is, watched one at auction, said something was updated on the electric part not sure if it was the generator or what but it was something on the electric side. it was a 2011 model. and of course like watglen said it no saled,it had 3900 hrs i think

Earthscratcher,. CAT did several in field updates to those machines. One was something major in the electric drive, the other was moving the water pump back to being accessory belt driven, from electric driven. That's what i understand anyway.

i have yet to run one, but those that have say they pushed like a 8 and handled more like a 6 then a 7,this is coming from guys running terrace and pond building jobs. with the new line of 6 electrics coming out i am not has scared has i once was.

You are exactly correct the electric water pump elimination and the drive update was a new updated electric motor, one i took care of had this all done to it

I've not heard much of anything on them. There was a demo one in this area and I've not heard of any being sold. The opinions around here were never very good for that size anyway.

There are a few in nc i think where i used to work is the only one in the state that has the waste package on it , blade is way to big for the weight of the machine in trash. Its fuel efficient is the only good thing i can say about it and the ac is ice cold in them . But thats it. My understanding of the reason they made them was aimed at the military as a mobile genset that could also do work and was good on fuel but that is just what i have heard and it wasnt from anyone at cat

480 volts ac genset and propulsion. 320 volts ac for the air conditioning , inverters run the other acessories on dc probably 24 volts didnt have to really do alot of work to it to be honest it was dependable in that aspect

Heck yeah 480 3phase not sure how you would tap it but im willing to bet cat has a way to do it

Now that i dont know i wasnt paying attention the day cat was there diagnosing the motor fualt it had one of the tests was checking the amps but i didnt ask , that was one dozer i really didnt want to know much about , had to be careful with running it and working on it at same time, after engine shut down a pilot light stayed on till voltage dropped below 50 volts i think it was , it took several seconds for the hazardous voltage to dissipate after shut down , i am not a big fan of hazardous voltages , sweaty arm across 24 volts dc is about all i tolerate lol.
