I have a question!
Working on Genie S85 boom lift ( that’s my first time working on Genie )
So the question is: do dealers sell seal kits that is not listed in the parts manual?
I need to reseal the whole platform leveling section in function manifold, the only seal kit listed in parts manual is counter balance valves seal kit. No solenoid, flow controller or check valve seal kits listed in the parts manual!
Someone been in that thing before me and replaced the seals to whatever they had, I guess. I need to re seal it to OEM before condemning the whole manifold block or start removing it and cost my customer unnecessary labor time.

In most cases you can find the o-rings you need for solenoid valves components in a US Industrial o-ring kit, most common for those applications are -001 and -100 series o-rings found in those kits. Aside from that you'll need a -900 series kit for the SAE port connections on those valves, the ports where hose fittings connect and also all those steel plugs in the manifold, those plug fittings are notorious for leaking after the machine accumulates some hours. Dissimilar metals, steel plug in aluminum manifold, expand and contract at different rates. Over time they work loose then boom, there goes the -900 series o-ring.

Thanks for the info. I do have ORB and ORFS O ring kit! The solenoids use two backing rings (made of composite materials, orange in color, the ones in jib boom/platform rotate switching manifold still have those although one of them failed) and O ring sandwiched between. The ones in functions manifold was converted to double rubber O rings.
I have the suspicion that something scratched up or wore out in manifold block it self - but before starting removing control panel (manifold is behind panel) and removing all the hoses I want to try re seal it to OEM seals and see if it will fix it.

And I was hoping to save time by buying a kits.

The parts manual for that s/n shows a #28750GT field service o-ring kit, but damn, doing a gaggle search that kit is expensive! Just sayin, from my experience, the US Industrial o-ring kit and matching back up rings along with o-ring boss kit typically have served me well over the years working on those valves.

Yes, $299-$350 for that kit, Partsroom have it for $139 but lead time is almost a month!
I’m actually looking for industrial O rings and back up rings kits right now, being independent it will be better to have all spectrum of these things, not being tied to certain brand.
I didn’t think to look for field kit.
Thanks again!

Fortunately for me, I have a Parker Hannifin distributor in my town, pretty easy for me to locally source o-ring kits and individual o-ring and various seals I need. Makes my life way more simple.

Sadly I can't give you a part # for the kit, that's where my local distributor makes it easy for me, but whatever kit you get it needs to have -001 series o-ring, such as 568-011 or 568-013, typical -001 series o-rings that are use in those applications. And you can get back up rings that match those size o-rings.

Just read in the manual that those face seal O rings not really SAE but Parker Seal-Lock, supposed to be different than standard SAE ORFS, well I did have a little trouble putting standards in!

Do you know if it’s possible to get the schematic or lay out of all those passages and plugs in that manifold? Short of talking everything apart, all I can get is locations of valves and solenoids.

I want to get 436x36 o ring kit and matching bac up ring kit to it, too bad most of the companies listing those don’t just freely offer them on line - have to request the quote!

Don't confuse ORFS with SAE o-ring boss, two totally different o-ring method seals. Parker Seal Lok is still common ORFS standard seals/o-rings, SAE o-ring boss is a completely different thing, they require -900 series o-rings.

And with ORFS, yes, one would think the o-ring is too large in OD, but that's normal, you have to depress them and push them into the groove that they fit in, that's normal.

Not sure what Genie is saying there. Check the Parker 4300 Master Catalog, it's huge, takes a few to download. Section A is Parker Seal Lok fittings, go to page A4, there you'll see the o-rings used for Seal Lok. You'll see the o-ring used for the ORFS and SAE (o-ring boss), both show N4 in bottom right corner, that means go to page N4 for sizes. When you go to page N4, you'll see ORFS size chart. Take the -4, Parker part #2-011, .030 x .07, which is dimensionaly the same as Industrial O-ring standard part #568-011 o-ring that's used on any other brand -04 ORFS fitting, they're the same thing. Note Parker even uses the -011 in their part number, they just changed the prefix number from 568- to 2- to make their part number.

It’s just example of funny attempt of doing something, I don’t even know what, increase sales for them self’s or Parker?
If I would follow they’re flow chart - I would replace both master and slave cylinders for platform leveling and that would be for nothing, as the pressure drop occurs inside the functions manifold ( I capped off the fittings at PL1 and PL2 ports). And I started “backwards” ( I knew better, been there ), first thing I did I jumped cylinders to known good circuit ( job boom/platform rotate ) and cylinders work fine! But the flow chart doesn’t anticipate that event.
The manuals can kind of point you in right direction, but you have to know how to read diagrams and understand the processes that do or might occurre in the system.

Thank you Sir! You have been a big help!
