Haha yeah. Absolutely no idea what I’d do with it.....but hey I’ve got some empty parking spots!

It brought like $2100. It would be handy for a rigging project that you needed a all wheel steer 4x4, with short turn radius, like for tugging planes around.

The college used it for the student/ workers to putter around the two times a year we get snow. I'm sure they got it military surplus probably 40 years ago. But really, a 4x4 pickup would be 10 times handier for that job.

I looked it over a little bit, saw it had hydraulic brakes, but saw air tanks under the passenger seat. They must have needed air to release the plane brakes, because the lines just ran to the rear.

The rear steer was independent with a lever in the cab.

I never understood why Pete stayed with the air leaf, the low air leaf is a good setup. The old air leaf had steep intermediate drive shaft angles and could be hard on U-joints.
Not to mention it jacked the after frame up so in odd situations it would or could get into trailer cross members.

We got on a tangent of old bikes awhile back, stumbled onto these two photos, my 1979 XS850 three lunger Yamaha and my XS1100. The color is deceiving as the 850 was Dark Red Blood Maroon. the cars were our dirt track racers from my days in Ft.Scott KS.

22Jr was Paul Belleau's car, his brother Charlie drove number 7. Hated taking the absolute most straight Chevelle coupe body off a beautiful car but had NO title and we converted to a dirt tracker. Paul became Fire Captain in Ft.Scott, have no idea where either are these days and undoubtedly they have long forgotten this big mug.

That C20 Chevy looks pretty close to new in those pics. Got a soft spot for those old squarebodies. My first new truck was a '79 K20 Silverado with power everything and a 400 small block. Later turned into a welding rig.

I noticed the tail end myself. Brings back childhood memories for me. I have one here at the shop. Military 1-1/4 ton. It may very well become a welding rig as well. It’s got a whopping 25k miles on it.

Yes RZ that was a '78 C20, I was moving to OK, was back in MO picking up that 850 when that photo was taken, my previous was a '77 K20 bronze color that also had a square back shell on it, had already put 75000 miles on it buying it in Nov of '76 with gas then going over a WHOPPING $.55/gallon dropped back to 2wd but as usual the old GMs got 15 mpg downhill after 8mpg up, BOTH wagons averaged close to the same 12mpg, 350 4bbl. Saginaw crashbox 4 spds. I was not shy to push the pedal down either!!

in '82 could not afford a newer truck anymore, bought a used '79 C15 Chevy Heavy Half for half the price of a new truck also First AUTO truck I owned, kept it until '87 and went Ford from there out. Wife's influence!!

I also had a xs850 for a bit. I always liked 3 cylinder with kick start.
And I had a 66 Chevelle back in the day. 283, powerglide, bucket seats, console, 2 barrel, all red. Very easy car to drive.

I saw this truck the other day here in town. Evidently now he's trying to sell it. Its some scrapper that owns it, he put a little log loader in the bed, when I saw it he had it all loaded down with appliances and debris. And he had all the scrap loaded on the little trailer behind him, and nothing in the bed, he must have the loader welded down in the bed.

He must want to keep the dump bed and loader, he's trying to sell it bare chassis. 67 Autocar, $5,500
