Last summer while looking through some stuff, i came across some chrome letters I had stashed away long ago. Then as things happen, I thought Wow They might look kind of neat on the hood side panels of the 17. So out with the template material and cutting devises. YUP those babies will really look cool. Out with the old cordless drill and just start drilling... Got about 35 little holes drilled in each side panel and set the letters in place..AND THEN went and looked !!! What a awful sight that was.. Spent all winter looking at this disasterIMG_3961.jpg

Well....Its spelt right,Its the right truck, none of the letters are backwards or upside down...So I am thinking you almost through the drill because after all that carefull planning and template work you stood back to admire your hours of work only to realize they are not centered to the handles and latches.

Just saw the latest build pics.....Maybe I am wrong

At least it wasn’t crooked Steve! I see you are re-lettering the doors. Looks good! I do like the original badging myself though.

Almost back to normal

It will be Red & White WITH the right door decals one day, But that is AFTER I make another set of hood panels as well as a new hood and a ton of other things that must be done. Will be sand blasted and painted properly. The reason I have held off is because she will get the 3408 back in her and nothing will fit anymore. Hood was chopped off 6 inches to allow the air to air device and Hayden oil cooler to be mounted in front of the rad. so they moved the rad back 6 inches and cut 3 inches off each end of the hood.. the shutters were turfed into the scrap bin down in Duncan long ago so I have been constantly looking for a new set. Then have to weld on a new right front plate that the front air cleaner hangs on because that is all gone also. Not an easy task ahead. The door decals were just an identity thing so to speak

That’s H295. We put the water tank on it after it was retired from hauling logs. I believe the water tank had been on H294 I believe. The truck was used to water the sort deck at Eve since we didn’t have sprinklers in the deck. When Eve, Kelsey and Menzies amalgamated everything ended up at Menzies. I don’t think H295 has had much use since she left Eve River. Probably slowly getting parts taken off for other trucks.

Great to know what her real number is. Could the drivers door have been changed? Seems to me I took a picture of the plate on the drivers door and it was for the 291

Quite possible Steve, I never saw H291. It was before my time. I don’t remember a tag on the drivers door but it could have been there.

Been puttering around with her, Doing stuff on her that does not really show, But none the less still tinkering. She is a pretty good old girl and I am not sure if she will eventually get the original Yellow paint job back or the Tri Color BCFP one. Not in a big rush though. She is out at the field of dreams with a number of the other old girls. We flash her up and keep the batteries up and fluids moving around. Wish there was more hours in a day.
