To add grouser bars or not?

At this point welding on grousers is putting lipstick on a pig, that under carriage will have to be replaced sometime down the road. You don't have rippers you have scarifiers and that machine won't pull them full depth new. Please check your cutting edges before you wear the bolt holes off your blade.

The corner bits are alright (ones cracked needs welding up.) Center cutting edges (2) are smaller but there. Those are on the list to replace. they look like edges from a smaller blade...same bolt pattern just smaller

Those cutting edges have already been turned ,one side wore off the one on top. Pick your blade up and see how close to the frog the edge is, bet the nuts are wore half off. When you change edges buy new bolts and nuts.

I personally wouldn't be too worried about those cutting edges. Running 100 hours a year in that kind of dirt you wouldn't wear out a set of bits your lifetime. We have similar dirt here. A few years ago I bought a used dozer and put new bits on it right away. I have put @6000 hrs on it and they still look new. I have not measured them but if I would bet that they within 1/4" of new. Just my $.02

I concur. Ill check and see how those bolts look...Looking at the shape and size of replacements...i can see just how worn out these bits are.

Just completed this side with 3/4" x 1" bar, if you have some time and enjoy welding its not too bad.. 39 Links per side with 2 bars each..
I could get about two pads done per hour using .045 fluxcore wire. Used an old oven for the preheat and it worked great.

One more suggestion, don't use the steering clutches. Instead use the tilt to make it go where you want while the blade is loaded. Ya gotta make the cat work for ya, not against ya!!
