IMG_4228.JPG Jack's old 6-261 sitting in front of the Cameron Shop..she came down same time as 262 but broke down just after she got off the lowbed and has not been fixed yet. Plans are in place now to have her taken care of and then she will go back on the line hauling again. Both these trucks are now owned by Island Forest.

These two trucks were bought by BCFP originally and used at their Caycuse Division for a number of years before BCFP was taken over by Fletcher Challenge, Then it became Timberwaste. All the big trucks were sold off except a few that were kept as Fire tankers. Line horses and LowBed trucks. These two P16's were bought by WD Moore up in Winter Harbour. They were sold off in Dec of 2017 when WD Moore shut down their operation after a hundred years... Island Forest Company, bought them along with a third P16 (Ex Crown Z) truck that was hooked up to a lowbed trailer. That truck is undergoing a semi-rebuild right now down at Messachie Lake. It has the big SPR 570 Rockwell rear ends. Tried to get the new owners to buy an HDX but they want to keep all the same model trucks. Same engines etc IFC also bought three other P16's, They came from the Island Pacific herd (H145 and H153 and H119) Now H02, H03 and H04 in that order. The Crown Z lowbed truck does not have a unit number yet as with the other ex BCFP truck (6-261)

A little barge traffic this morning. Full barge heading north. It has a stern ramp and what looks like a yellow 3800 madill sitting on the back. The tug has turquoise smoke stack and White House anybody recognize this color scheme?

Sweet! So Steve is driving the p-16 he posted? What outfit? Just curious. I have really enjoyed reading everyone’s post and stories especially from the guys doing it. Envious! It’s a tease my daily view from work is their stomping grounds on Vancouver island Some days I wish I grew over there in Canada such a beautiful region bc is. Well I am still lucky for being raised and raising a family on an island in the PNW

San Juan Island was almost declared British over a hundred years ago over a dispute between American army camp and British army camp over an American pig being shot by the Brit’s for eating their garden. A German chancellor had to mediate the territorial dispute. But if that was the case I might not even be here.

George Gibberson was Master Mechanic there when I started my apprentiship then Dick Steves took over when George went to Caycuse. Great memories from those early days.
