Wondering if anyone here has ideas of what would cause the CAT 3114T engine to want to stall .
Engine is in CAT wheel loader.
I start the engine let it warm up a few minutes then put transmission into forward 1st gear, with in 50 feet the engine bogs down as if it was going to stall.
The engine can run for one hour and some times it will do this again in either 1st or 2nd gear.
Oil samples show nothing wrong with engine, just turned over to 7,000 hours.
Transmission fluid sample shows no problem.
Fuel filters changed.
Air cleaner clean.
When this happens if I step on the accelerator pedal to rev up the engine it does not rev up as one would expect so I take foot off and engine slows down then depress it again and work with it (while it still wants to bog down), after a few minutes problem does go a way and then some times it happens again.
Any ideas of what is the cause?

Sounds like you might be pulling air... I would put a clear line between the pump and supply and look for air inundation.

I have taken everything from a rag, to a soda bottle cap, to a piece of grade stake out of fuel tanks already. God only knows how they got in there when the snap rings and strainers were still in place.

If it's not air getting sucked in, then it's air getting in after the transfer pump so you might try the clear hose on the fuel return line if the supply looks clear with no air bubbles. Another test to narrow it down is to tee in a line to a pressure vacuum gauge in the cab to see what the pressure does when it bogs down.

Assuming you're not getting black smoke or any smoke when it's failing to rev.

Some times foreign objects will get sucked up against the fuel strainer in the tank and cause loss off fuel flow and bogging at random times.Missed the part where you said it goes away.Sorry.Usually the suction will hold the offending material there until the engine is shut down so may not be your problem unless it recovers when load is decreased.

possibly one is sticking open letting compression pressure bleed back to the fuel line. The clear tubing is the easiest way to find out.

Not that likely. What's the history on this thing? you getting any black smoke, or white smoke when it's bogging?

No black smoke or white smoke.
We do not rev the engine up much normally only about middle RPM range when working.
Could water condensation in the fuel tank cause this, but it does not last it will stop acting up after a while then all of a sudden begin acting up.

Pre strainer screen. I will have to look in the books for the machine to locate it.
I have looked in the at the location under the primer pump for a small screen in the fuel line it is not there.

Maybe, but the fuel filter would be full of water for it to happen. It would blow plenty of white smoke if it was water.
