Anyone use them? I know they are part chinese owned but what isn't? They do own several part ownerships in oil fields around the United States. I'm going to try some hydraulic oil.

I purchased some last winter. According to the hydraulic suppliers and shops that I checked with, as long as it meets certifications, it's ok to use. I'm using both 46 and 68 hydraulic fluids with excellent results. It's very clear and you will notice that it is very slick and tough to clean off of your hands. No problems and my hydraulics are working fine.

I'm planning to purchase synthetic engine oil next time I order more 46 fluid.

Just got my pallet of 20 wt. hydraulic oil today. Opened one and did notice it is real slick. I'm thinking of ordering a couple of barrels of the synthetic myself.

Why use a foreign oil? Because of price? There are plenty of US made lubricants to use.

Because it's so cheap it's unbelievable. I know a guy that buys the engine oil by the tote for less than $8 per gallon, DELIVERED. It's tempting, but for 110 gallons per year, I'll stick to Rotella.

I don't believe he's been running it long enough to decide if it's any better or worse than any local brands, but otherwise he loves it. IF, and that's a BIG if, I was going to think about changing, I would buy 10 gallons from him and try it in one of our trucks to see if consumption changed. I've had several instances over the years where a "new to me" piece of equipment uses very little oil for the first service, then when I put my oil in it proceeds to burn 3 gallons in 200 hours. I did have a truck that dried up after 3 oil changes, so I know there is something to this.

I wish they sold it in 5 gallon jugs just to try it. I might try the full syn. in 5w30 in one of my diesel pickups. 5w30 just seems to light in an old cat motor.

I'm all for saving a buck, but don't want to skimp on quality. It may meet standards but for how long. Remember"You get what you pay for". My equipment costs too much for me to use a lower quality product in it. Save a dollar now to spend more down the road for a rebuild. Not me.

According to the people that I talked with, Sinopec is refined at the same facility that Shell is. Arizona maybe? Don't remember. The petro engineers that I checked with told me as long as it is certified to meet the standards, it's just as good as other brands. It can't be certified if the quality of the product is not good enough.

Most oil problems are a function of contamination rather than deterioration. Past oil sampling taught me that much. Oils that I ran over twice the recommended change intervals never lost their protective additives and I could have quadrupled the service life if I wanted to,.without worry.

I make sure to use good filtration on my machines because that is what makes the difference. If you don't get it under 10 microns, you still get a lot of wear.

I know I'm waking up a dead one here but i want to share my experience with sinopec oil. My dad used rotella 15w40 synthetic for many years, he decided to by some sinopec oil trying to save a buck. He bought the t600 semi synthetic blend oil. In the trucks that are using the oil(Both are internationals one with 466e and the other a big cam cummins) are holding better oil pressure with the sinopec than the rotella. I was in the truck with the big cam before we changed the oil you could here the engine mechanically like you could hear all the metal moving down beside you. When we changed it with the sinopec the engine was much quieter mechanically. The 466e engine is very hard on oil it holds better oil pressure. I can't speak for how it sounded mechanically. The oil also seems to be holding up better than the rotella. We plan to buy the t700 full synthetic next and try it

I was online looking for ELC coolant and found Chevron Delo ELC for $7.77 a gallon. I ordered 12 gallons and got free shipping too. Going to order more to keep on hand.

Just looked at the description of the Sinopec Synthetic 15W-40 oil at Walmart.Com
It says it is a Hydrocracked base oil. It can be sold as a full synthetic but is not a true 100% synthetic oil. That's the reason for the cheaper price.
