I recently bought a 450AJ and upon using it after a full day I noticed a pretty decent issue. Once in a while when operating the unit from the platform, the foot switch will seem to not engage and allow me to operate the machine, this is an issue because most often it happens when I'm 30' in the air and I have to get my apprentice to operate the ground controls to let me down. Doesnt seem to happen in a certain spot all the time, does it probably 3 or 4 times a day usually when its too far up for me to hop down and put it down with the ground controls. So when my apprentice puts me down on the ground then we switch the key back to platform operation and it works again like nothing happened. Insight? Hoping to get one of them analyzers soon to see if anything else is going on

Welcome.
Something that could be happening to you - the basket controls on some of those machines had a timer on them. If your foot is on the foot switch without activating a function for a minute (I forget the actual time) the controls will be locked out. Some you have to shut everything off, and then restart. Some have button you push to regain control/override the lockout.
Did your JLG come with an operators manual? It should should say something about this "feature". You can download 450AJ manuals from the JLG website if you need one.

Yes sir it has a 7 second delay. So if your foot is on for more than 7 seconds it will time you out.
