Curious what year you are seeing this fuel pickup issue with rivioshaun ? From what I have personally seen with my machines this issue was addressed a few years back now. I have not had this issue on any on my 299's...

It's been the past two years 2015/2016 I have seen this on and off. I know CAT has addressed the issue by coming out with the new high flow filter however I still see from time to time clogging Of the lift pump. With the old lift pump it seems to burn out the pump. With the new high flow pump the pumps get clogged but normally do not burn out. I never really paid attention to the actual year the machine was when I came across the problem. I just know the last two years I have seen this problem on most of the D series MTL and skid steers.

We stop every hour and blow it off/out with a gas powered leaf blower. Grease the FAE head every 4 hours. .
Just a couple of tips.
1: You may be over greasing the mulcher bearings, 3 pumps a day is all thats required, any more than that can damage the bearings.
2: Apparently the Cats have a bad problem with getting the trackmotor senser damaged when used for mulching. If you haven't got covers on them a bloke on Tractor by Net/landclearing forum has made some for his machine. It would be worth a look

Forestry equipped units have these and many other needed guards, filters, Pre-filters and covers as part of the package plus we steel track ours as well. Running a land clearing deficated CAT without the forestry package isn't a smart idea. My 259D have the forestry package installed as well minus the steel track package..you can get by with occasional usage in terms of land clearing without the forestry package but again dedicated land clearing demands this package IMHO..I have done it both way and it's just not smart business unless of course you like spending money and time fixing stuff that would otherwise never see an issue....my 2 cents
