We just got our Toolcat back from the dealership after some A/C work and now it giving an "58-10 Fuel Temperature High" code. The unit will de-rate the engine power when the light comes on. Then if you continue to drive it the indicator will start to flash. Then the unit will shut off. I took it out yesterday and the problem can be duplicated easily. Takes about 15 minutes of driving before it will do it after initial startup but happens faster after it has been ran and is warm.
I filled the fuel tank, it was almost on empty, no change. I changed out the fuel filter today, still did it. The fuel cooler didn't look dirty but I blew it and the radiators out with compressed air. Drove it and still doing the same thing. The fuel lines are ran differently than what the parts diagram is showing. There is a tee fitting that isn't in the same location as the diagram. Also, it looks as if somebody cut the fuel return line and then spliced it back together. Do you think this could be restricting the flow and causing the fuel to get too hot?
Any ideas on what the fuel temp sensor resistance range is? The service manual is absolutely no help on this. It gives the description of the code, but no troubleshooting info for the code. No specs for the sensor either, only location. A new sensor is $110 so I don't want to just throw one in there to see if that fixes it.
Thanks.
