And a few more. The first washout was a quarter mile from the parking area and the second one about a half mile. I touched up a lot of the trail just to save my back.

I've done a few jobs like that. Sure is peaceful out there. Looking good, now it's time get back on the Ranger and test it out at speed.:D

I saw those bottles you posted. Looks like my collection. I've done a few searches and there are some valuable ones to be found. There is a "story" of a guy who found one will operating that was worth several thousand $$$$'s... Could be true, could be a tale but it's enough to get me interested.

How's this for expansive soil? The crack is one of many in my pasture and that's my wife's size 6 in the pic.

Who says men can't multitask? I picked up a few rolls of coastal bermuda from the job I was on today and dropped off pipe for tomorrow's job. Momma happy= Daddy happy! :D

For some reason the heat / humidity was really bothering me this week, so I didn't take the time to take many pics and just hustled to get the jobs done and get home. This is the third driveway in a row that I've done on this road. When the ditches were excavated they left a hump at the top of the slope so the driveways are the drainage path.

This is not how I wanted to start my day. On a one day job I always like a good hour to regrade before I see my first truck. It seems my hauler is training a new dispatcher and the first truck was there when I arrived a 7AM. And...before I could stop the driver, I saw that the topping rock arrived on the first load. With the only spot to dump being the street, I had to shuttle the 26 ton load to the back to get it out of the way so I could grade and add a load of base.

Here's a regrade of my wife's dirt clod arena. She had been dragging the box blade around to knock down the weeds, but the cracks were getting pretty wide so I dug it out a bit with the Case yesterday afternoon. We're going to be moving further out before next summer, so no sand in this one!

This is one of the "black holes" beneath the cracked areas. You can be grading along and see the ground move out in front of the bucket, then a big chunk of clay just rolls right up. Weird.

Don't feel bad about the trucks, many a day has been ruined by trucks either showing up at the wrong time, not at all or doing whatever they feel like. The driveway sure did turn out good though.

This particular hauler has been pretty good about getting what I need, when I need it. But, every once in awhile they do shove a wrench in the works. There are a few other haulers I use, but these guys have truck and pups, end dumps and belly dumps, and a bunch of them too. It's hard to beat the one call versatility.

A bit of grading and gravel for parking and access to the customer's new shed.

Forty-six tons of road base in and roll compacted.

Poor little copperhead got caught up in the action. It didn't both me too much.
Brush08.jpg

Finished it off with a 10-wheeler load of crushed limestone.

I finally got to finish this project for my tree service customer. Since the last time I was there they purchased an adjoining property and needed access through the overgrown right of way and drainage area.
Gear01.jpg

This line was pretty easy to locate.
Gear02.jpg

It looks nice and smooth, but it was too spongy to walk on.
Gear03.jpg

Spread the mulch and chip piles that were in my way every time I was there before.

Finished the job off by placing a loop around the raised mulch bed with 96 tons of road base.

Thanks CM!

The Case has been working fine. I guess if you through enough money at anything it'll work. I do need a new joystick since I have no auxiliary hydraulic functions at all now in the right stick. It's been going out for awhile. I also have an annoying code that pops up from time to time indicating a hydraulic filter restriction. The dealer says it's a bad sensor and a known problem.

Funny, my wife thought it was pretty big when she saw the photo. It was actually only about 12" long. It looks fat 'cuz I flattened it. :D

Looking good. You do keep that gravel in line and it looks good. Cool truck shots. That is so wild with pup trailers and dumping them. If it wasn't for the internet I wouldn't know those exist. How much can one truck bring? Case is looking good. Guess the snakes are out in March...great.

You got a good laugh out of me and the wife with that one CM! :D

The truck and pup combo is legal here at 23-24 tons depending on the rig. Here's a nice easy job from today replacing a crushed culvert pipe. The pup has already dumped and the truck is dumping over the tongue. It's not the most efficient way to dump, but we don't have too many tri's or quad's around here. It's better than laying 24 tons out of an end dump all in the street and 10-wheeler loads are expensive.
