Go with the 14 pin conversioan kit and never look back again. You will be set for all future attachments from Bobcat or-other manufacturers. Easy installation. Directly from Bobcat.
10 minute installation. I run nothing but CAT equipment now but used this conversion to run my previously purchased Bobcat

You can convert a machine to 14 pin but as far as I know you cannot just convert this attachment to 14 pin. If anyone knows otherwise please tell. And he needs caterpillar 8 pin anyways.

As you put it "8-pin" …. is only the terminology ! ……. the base plug-in IS A 14-Pin Plug-in …. only that CAT uses only "8" of the pin spots (locations) of the Deutch 14-pin Plug Ass'y …..

Just realized that his Caterpillar is actually 14-pin. My mistake. The Cat I am trying to hook up to is (289c) 8-pin and I assumed it to be the same. As stated in the other thread Skid Steer Solutions has the hot ticket.

Sorry for the confusion CRAFT,

Wayne

You don't need to spend $500-$1000 on your blade all you have to do is supply 12 volts to the solenoid and the and you gain the other 2 directions. Hook up a switch to 12 volts then run a wire to a boat type 2 prong plug when you energize the solenoid it simply diverts the hdralic pressure to the other cylinders.

All of the electrical controllers, harnesses and connectors can be found at www.skidsteergenius.com. We will be releasing some electronic smart controllers that will make harnesses a thing of the past. Keep checking back as most of these issues will be a thing of the past very soon.

Bobcat Dozer to a Takeuchi TB-135

Wait...
I can have a Bobcat 6-way dozer blade on a Tak TB-135?

In that case you could use one of our jump harnesses. What this does is to plug directly into the Bobcat dozer solenoids and run out the hoses to plug directly into your 14 Pin connection on the boom of your machine. Works like a charm.

Here is the link. This is the most popular harness that we sell as there are lots of used Bobcat attachments and people cannot figure out how to get by the controller.

Caterpillar's are now tricky because they used to be 8 pin and now they are 14 pin but they still have not added two more buttons for controls. Maybe someone with a Cat can comment on this. They used to run an 8 pin but supplied 2 extra hydraulic connections so your hydraulics would actually run the control functions on the attachments. Any machine using 14 pin would use electrical controls to operate solenoids on the attachments that would switch the hydraulics. Now that Cat has switched to 14 pin, I would have expected there to be two more control buttons added to the sticks, but so far I have not seen anything and the 2 extra hydraulic controls are gone. So the question is, How are they going to run a cold planer? You need controls for left/right, up/down and shift left/shift right. Does anyone know?

Kubota 14 Pin Harness for Bobcat Attachments

What about Kubota? Or anyone else who offers 6-way blades?

Here is the issue with Kubota. If you have a 14 pin from the past few years, the chances are it is a 14 pin with only 4 pins installed (Hot, GND, SW1 & SW2). The engineers in Japan did not realize that in the USA we run snow blowers. You can only run basic attachments requiring 2 controls. In June of 2014 they released an enhanced control button pack that tye wraps onto the left stick. It has 6 momentary buttons and 1 locking button. This ideal for running most attachments, but is ergonomically a bad design. In March 2016 a new machine is coming our way and it is a Kubota. We plan on making a joystick controller kit based on our Super Controller.

Here is the link. Keep watching as the improvements appear.

As for the attachment, you need a harness to run directly to the solenoids so you can bypass the Bobcat controller. Here is the link for this harness.

If you need to run a Bobcat Planer or Bobcat stump grinder, here is the link.
