Maybe this is a dead thread...
Takeuchi (own two) are good tools, but going to try Komatso, they seem to be getting more popular.
Any thoughts?:cool2

Out here, Komatsu is selling more of the mini and large size excavators than Hitachi/Deere and Cat, even die hards that have been with Hitachi are buying Komatsu, mainly their 225 zero tail swings, more room in the cabs than Deere/Hitachi and way more room than CAT's 321's.

steer clear of Case?

Hi Nick Drew, You said earlier in your posts to steer clear of Case among others. Was that due to service in your area, or poor machine performance or??? I am looking at a CX50 and wondering if you have input. Actually this is my third post so hopefully I can start a thread now with q's on this... :canada

Bobcat 320 Help

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi, I'm a newbie here and cant post a new thread so searched for track motor and this is the thread I found....so here goes, I have the Bobcat 320 roughly 1996 model, I need to know if a 322 two speed motor would be operational in my single speed 320. Please help here as I'm having real trouble finding an answer to this question.

Cheers

The CASE mini is made by Kobleco and is a fine excavator. Very reliable, get the B series as I found them to have significantly more breakout than the first series.

It may fit but may end up making the machine hard to track in a straight line when pushing the control sticks fully open simultaneously as the gearing ratios may be different between the two motors so one side may track faster than the other.

2 speed motors usually speed up the machine activating a valve which lets more oil flow to the track motors, sometimes excavators with 2 speed tracking produce more torque than their single speed counterpart so could have different gear ratios to produce the increased torque at the expense of the speed as the faster speed option is available to the user.

Have you asked a bobcat dealer?? The other option would be to get a parts book for the 320 and 322 and see if the track motors have the same part numbers.

to me most effective mini means will do the job the easiest for the least amount of money so buying used will depend on your market. Around here its easiest to find cats and bobcats and a few deere but they are realitively a new machine so finding a used one is tough. I have used cat and bobcat and the cat was weak which means the boom and stuff will be in good shape but I prefer to have the power so I went with a bobcat and I love it. They all will have their pros and cons but they all beat the alternative LOL
