I am sorry to say I never took any pics of my service trucks over the years. :Banghead

The last earth company I worked work, Prince, the boss gave me a brand new truck, all the gear, and said rig her how I want and with what ever I want!

I would go back to work for Joe any day!

Now that I own my own company, so far a service truck is not in the picture or budget, if anything it will be a service trailer for recovery jobs. I own a trucking company by the way.

Well, lets see what you drive around the job site!

Something between these two. Truck setup like the first one and the bed off the white one with royal blue/powder metallic. Smaller welder(500 amp), big enough air compressor to run airarc. A pintle trailer with diesel, oils, grease, and small set of tools would handle the refueling and fuild changes. That any of the big trucks could perform morning service, and the truck could be free for whatever is needed. It'll be a while before i get the truck, but i already have a smaller version of the trailer.

Opps, by service trucks I mean more on the mechanics service trucks, but lube trucks are cool also.

Is there a way to edit posts? :bash

At Prince we had that same Curry set up mounted on a Mack Granite.

I like that all-wheel as well, although I would want some "floats" on the front. I wonder why more service trucks aren't all-wheel drive, other than the obvious requirement that the mechanic be tall to reach the upper tool bins.:cool2

Probably the extra $40,000 the 4 x 4 option adds to the cost of a medium duty truck. with all the weight over the rear axle on most service trucks the front axle rarely digs in. a full locking rear end on a single axle and decent traction tires would give you enough traction to put it into some stupid places.

I have seen more F-450 sized service trucks that were 4 x 4 but I think these were more for driving on ice and snow than getting around on the jobsite. plus the cost of the 4 x 4 on the super duyts is much much less than adding that option to an MDT.

And as far as I know International and Chevy are the only company's offering an assembly line installed 4 x 4 option. ALL the others are done by after market up fitters.

Tonka, I must say that I like your taste! That first service truck, mmmm, thats my baby. For me, just put that body on a DAF CF85, 6x4. Put a Fassi or Ferrari crane on the front behind the cab, than I'd be happy.
