I second that "not white" TIO

I would of liked to of had the box painted the same color as the truck but Brutus likes to paint match and that would of added another 2 weeks or more to the build time. I had to be back at work so that was a no go.

I really like the box. They do really nice work all hand built. The wiring is really nice and tiddy. All the corners and welds are smooth. What ever you can dream up they can do. I wish they would update there website all the trucks on there are like 8 years old.

I would not hesitate to get another one built. You should consider getting one sooner as our dollar is way down in comparison to the U.S. dollar.

My last box was a summit and the brutus is way nicer.

One my students are working on. We have been building one a year. They build them I run it over the summer and sell it around August. The enclosed body I sold in September. The 550 we are working on now. Yes that is a JOBOX mounted on the side. Got it cheap on craigslist but kinda of liking it.service truck 4.jpg20151207_142245.jpg20151208_143801.jpg20151208_150712.jpg20151209_140619.jpg

I do mainly welding repair work and have been slowly working my way up in the service truck world. I started out with my welder and gear piled in the back of my jeep, when I needed more room for tools and parts I would just hook my little camp trailer to the back. That setup got me by for a year and a half!

Then I finally bought a real service truck, I got myself a Dodge 2500 4x4

I ran that truck for awhile, and it worked out pretty well for me, but I had some ideas on setting up a welding truck a bit different than most. So when someone offered to buy the Dodge from me, I figured it was a good chance to try my idea. But unfortunately, I would be without a truck until I found the right one. So I spent a real busy weekend buildings a welding trailer to go behind my jeep

I ended up using that setup for the summer and was actually pretty happy with it. I was able to do everything I could with the dodge, the only drawback was that I went up the hills a little slower. After quite a bit of searching, I finally found the right truck. I ended up buying a Ford F450 with a utility bed and a 34' manlift that is also rated for crane work with an 800 pound capacity at full reach. It's not 4wd, and the interior isn't nearly as nice as the Lariat package Dodge that I had, but at the price, I sure can't complain! I've finally got this truck setup mostly how I want it, and so far I'm really happy with the setup and am glad I didn't go with a conventional crane.

This is my brand new F-550 we bought this year. Little on the light side but overall a great truck so far.

I'm the editor of a new trade publication called Service Truck Magazine. This thread certainly caught my attention. We have a regular feature in the magazine called Spec My Truck. I think your truck would make an excellent candidate for that feature. If this interests you, please send an email to editor@servicetruckmagazine.com. Feel free also to check out the website www.servicetruckmagazine.com.

Mr Editor, as well as as featuring the big rigs, which are awesome, maybe show smaller units and how people utilize small space and weight limitations. Everyone's truck would be different in set up and there is probably some very clever ways of doing things which could be shared throughout the industry. As inspiring as some of the larger units are, they are way out of reach of some of us, yet some ideas can be carried over. I for one admire all of the vehicles and work shown by members of the forum but some are so out of reach! I can appreciate and maybe adopt some of the ideas shared, but seeing the smaller trucks and how people operate to their fullest would also be nice.

my new '15 chevy 3500 HD with a KUV body.

for us, the KUV body is much better, we carry a LOT of parts, and at least the KUV body doesnt leak all the time.
