I am not having much luck locating a front axle for the truck. The hunt is not over yet tho..
I am looking for a Dana 60 front axle, drivers side pinion and leaf sprung.Roughly 31" spring centers..A 78-79 Ford F-350 front end would be ideal but others may fit..The newer stuff has a much wider spring spacing.Moving the pads is not so simple due to the Dana casting...
I know a lot of people here are off the beaten path on there travels....Never know whats sitting in the bush..

I know it doesn't help much but if you have a cross country trucking connection I have one in the stockpile with 3.55s. You could get a Chevy 60 and swap the tubes (or more likely retube) to drivers drop. Chevy and dodge 60 fronts use heavier spindles and knuckles.

Blacky's used to have a lot of truck stuff too if Maxwell's doesn't have one. I haven't been to either for a while so I can't say how much old stuff they have anymore.

I just signed up and this is my first post. The new thread about Grizzly trucks got me thinking about one that still working in Fort St John. The owner is Brian Surerus of Surerus Contracting. Attached is a blurb from their website. They made a major investment and ordered a quite a few for the Pipeline division.Scan0006.jpg

I was working in Fort St John at the time Grizzly trucks failing and saw the new Grizzly he had purchased. When I finished work for the winter season I came back to Vancouver and tracked down the Grizzly facility. There were Dodge truck bodies stacked high by then. I suppose they figured the most cost effective way to make a Grizzly was to take out the drive components from a Dodge. I guess sourcing was a problem. Not to efficient buying a whole new pickup for drive parts. I know Surerus put some good dough into Grizzly Trucks, so maybe he named the rental division after the most expensive pickup he ever bought.
Here's some pictures of my 1979 LW 924 I put together for the oilpatch.Steve's picker truck.jpg

I know a few mud racers over on the mainland that might have a ford front end kicking around. I will check Monday.
