Yup Stu never seems short of something to say . But he has paid his dues , we set chokers when 1 1/16 inch chokers were the small ones and 1 1/8 inch were the regular size and they were made in camp with "babit" knobs . Spent time packing rigging across the hillside on the back end of Slack lines up to our chests in snow too .

I think it was you he was talking about trying to get him hooked up on HEF . Told him how to get signed up ,hope he dose

His Father Sid "Skidder" Smith took some great pictures in his early days , A Frame Skidder on Great Central Lake , Pioneer Timber Co. Port McNeill , to name a couple , he probably has quite a few of his own . I'll have to give him a phone call .
If you see him again , ask him about getting a "Speeding Ticket" on Douglas St. in Victoria in his 1957 Austin . Cop turned on his lights and siren , so Stu pulled into a gas station and had the Gas Pump Jockey fill up the gas tank while the cop wrote out the ticket .

IPL HBO another unsung hero in a large logging camp shop is a good Tire Man , Dan Reid started in Caycuse then moved to HBO when the two divisions were amaigamated , big tires or small tires Dan took care of them all , if he wasn't the best Tire Man on the coast , he ran a close second .scan1011.jpgscan1012.jpgscan1013.jpg
