We have 4-5 lock-and-lube fittings. One is on our air greaser and the rest we have regular Lincoln pump guns. We love them and our local hose shop can make flex hose as long as you want for your gun. Get a hose about 2 feet long and clip it to the fitting and stand back and pump. The ones we got also came with one rebuild kit. So if it wears out ( which after 4 months of daily use it has not) you can just rebuild it and be back to new.

I have thought hard about it, too, problem is on my old loader and scraper there are too many pins where they put the zerk in the hole and that coupler won't fit.



Ah, if you stretch the hoe out, I do not believe there will be a fitting you can't access from the ground, unless you're 5' tall.

Thats a good point. We might have to put up with changing tips on a regular basis.

So you do not have any trouble getting the tip on any fittings?

This one is different I think than some others I've seen. This one might work.

Yes, that's it. They're a little spendy, but worth every penny. I use them exclusively on my service truck grease pump and the shop grease barrel, I WILL NOT EVER go back to using conventional grease couplers, I'd pour gasoline on my head, set it on fire, and have a helper put the fire out with a sledge hammer before I did that. :yup

They're excellent for grease zerks that are fitted into a recessed hole, no more fighting to get the coupler loose for lack of side movement required to release the coupler because no wiggle room allowed by the hole.

The only problem you'll find with the lock n lube is when you run across a joint that won't take grease, that will lock that thing down so tight that you can't get the sleeve to pull back and release the coupler. The more grease pressure you have on the line, the tighter it grips. A grease locked fitting will lock it down until you relieve the pressure. My remedy was to install a high pressure needle valve on the grease gun hose. If I run across a locked down fitting, I simply open the needle valve and relieve the pressure. The 1/8" brass plug on the bottom of the valve has a 1/8" hole drilled in it, makes it easy to wipe away the grease I just released.

Willie that is a great idea. Had one lock up tight once and had to unthread the hose from the gun, what a mess.

willie engineering at it's finest! they tell you in the package to take your old end and screw a grease fitting in it and you have a handy adapter to fit in those tight places

Had the same happen to me buckfever, and yes, mess, not to mention the PITA part, hence the remedy. And I used steel hydraulic pipe fittings, not brass, because of the pressure involved, wouldn't want it to burst from the pressure. The only thing that's brass is the 1/8" pipe plug with the hole on the end.

Hey pondo,

I have added extension hoses to many zerks that are hard to get at. Most equipment dealers or parts stores have or can make a little hose for it. I like to make a little bracket out if angle iron or flat iron to hold the new end.

Really saves time for hard to get at fittings.

Always a greasy nightmare servicing these machines. I bought a 18v Lincoln grease gun and it changed my life! I am finally able to hold pressure on the zerk and fitting and just pull the trigger!

I then purchased a Dewalt 20v greaser and it is even more amazing yet! I can pump around 5 tubes depending on the temperature with 1 battery. It was cheaper than the lincoln and in my opinion its a better gun. even has a little light on it for "night greasing"
