I haven't experienced more hp so I couldn't tell you how much better it makes it. I can say that my truck has a very short wheel base which is not helpful with weight transfer also the truck has an aluminum dump bed so it only weighs around 19,000 lbs empty. The trailer weighs about 7,000 lbs. I regularly tow my skid and Kubota 057 together and it feels fine. I think the problem with the heavier pc120 is weight transfer and finding that perfect spot on the trailer where the truck axles are weighted and a majority of the machine is on the trailer.
I would consider towing my mini ex with dirt in the bed but not both machines and definately not with the PC. If your going to tow regularly I would get a tandem. Easier to find a well built tandem. My single axle was an ex state truck and is specd with a. 25k rear and 12.5 front so it's very heavy for a single axle
Good luck!

What's the smaller 4 axle trailer? I've got a 12-ton Bame that looks just like it, except for the rookie guards on the edges.

thanks guys , The shovel I bought as a repo with 70hrs on it , I was skeptical of it as I have all Case equipment, that said it was 57k and almost brand new, it has been a great machine ,has 1500 hrs now and no issues other then the a/c drier split (r/r and its been cold ever since). It weights 34k with the blade and geith hyd thumb.

The smaller trailer was a custom 12T , nice little trailer . It hauled everything I had without issue, short and strong. The BWS 25t air tilt was a no brainier at the price and just about never used by the roofer I got it from. Its a great trailer , pulls straight and holds a 160 with ease , I cant recommend BWS enough, it really is a fine piece of equipment .

The fl80 pulls ok with the lil' cat and 8LL, not a power house but does the job and combined with the bws makes moves a breeze , a big cam would be ideal but no room in the fl for that : (

(couple of pics before paint and after
and a pic of the new addition)

yes the case loader is mine, it a good machine strong for its size, the fl80 has 300hp and pulls pretty good but struggles on the hills.

It weights 20300 empty and gvw/ reg is 53k so when carrying 16/17ton and needs all the lil cat has to offer.

Its a great little truck but it was time for a tri -axle so i picked up the mack Dm . sand blast and paint next week.

Yea I got it from Arthur trovei. Mines a 275 horse. He had a lot of these trucks but there were only a few that were clean and mine only had 3,500 hours and 43,000 miles where as the newer 350 hp trucks had higher miles and 10,000 plus hours. I felt it was a good deal and I hope to add a jake and ac one day as well as some new injectors etc for more hp

I use an eager beaver 20 ton trailer and a converted road tractor to move my 953's. 31,000 lbs or so. The trailer has a gvwr of 48,000 lbs. I think that means the trailer can actually haul 20 tons. I would not want to use a single axle truck to move the load. The contractor I bought the trailer from used it with a single axle truck pulling a 53. He told me that he had to be real careful. He said it was overloaded and he could tell it.

I have often wondered if I could move a 963 with my dump and 20 ton trailer. I have not tried it yet.

Cant wait to see that DM all shined up ctkiteboarding! Is it set up to pull the trailer too?

Me too :drinkup, its really one of the things I enjoy. This truck does not have a hitch but im deciding what to do now . This J&J body is really clean ( other then surface rust), has a great floor and sides with only a couple rock dents , the issue is the over hang :beatsme ,its over 28" and id prefer about 12" , so its for sale and if i can unload it for a reasonable number im going with slightly shorter lagace or (possible beauroc) steel body with barn door. if and when that happens ill do the hitch plate.

Im working on one king pin now, other then that the truck is really solid with 128k mies / 11k hours orig owner, it has service/ repair, f/f and grease records from new , it looks to be a really well maintained truck from a big paving outfit in pa. It needs a driver door latch some misc body work and a really good sand blast. going to paint it my colors but might do the frame mack red ,that said im not sure if it will mix well with the grey and black.
