Harley rake options

Hey guys, newbie here so take it easy on me.......I have done recreational grading and seeding for about 10 years now, just enough to justify having enough of my own equipment and adding a piece or two to the fleet each year. Up until last November I was seriously thinking about hanging it up. All of my equipment is paid for, building had slowed down and the wife and I had twins a few years back.

Then a tornado hit our town in mid November of last yr and wiped out 80 homes and damaged another 150. My phone began to ring and I made the conscious decision to buy a skid steer as I do a fair amount of snow removal with my 3 Cat 928g wheel loaders and have several friends that run skids and get along really well. Long story short and 2 skid steers later I ended up with a pretty nice Cat 277c.

Then I found myself in the predicament that none of my 3pt attachments would fit the skid and I really wanted a Harley rake so out shopping I went. One of my equipment salesman lost his home in the tornado as well and he cornered me to grade and seed his yard also. He has offered to sell me a new 84" glenmac Harley rake at cost :notworthy the sad part is that with the hydraulic angle option full list is $10,500! even after he sells it to me at cost it is WAY MORE money than I had hoped to spend.

So that brings me to my question.......are there any other brand Harley rakes that are similar in quality without the super high price tag?

Used isn't necessarily a bad thing with power rakes. The carbide nubs are tough! I know that Deere's model is Harley, as well as some others I'm sure. Bobcat's model is chainless, which is nice. Landpride makes a nice one that I have a few dozen hours on (rental). It's a stout unit, but expensive new. Paladin and Quick Attach have them and a few other companies I can't think of off the top of my head. I've been looking at them as well.

You were looking for work in Gifford or Washington? There will be lots of work in either community. I have a pretty long list of jobs already and I expect it to get longer as homes get rebuilt. There has been a handful of homes built here each year prior to the tornado and some renovation projects as well. Over the last 10 years or so I have done 75% of the grading/seeding work in town and I hope to keep that percentage up!!

I have 3 - Caterpillar PR172's they have been virtually problem free minus the 1 hose in 3-5 years, and normal grease and cutting off string and such that gets wrapped around it. If you already have electrical on the aux arm you will be good to go

Thanks for all of the help guys, I ended up picking up a 2010 John Deere pr84b ( made by glenmac for Deere) with hydraulic angle for $4000. I can't wait to use it!!!
