I am interested in hearing the reviews- good and bad on the new Gehl RS175 and Gehl RS210 or Mustang 1750RT and 2100RT

The Gehl and Mustang line used to be Takeuchi units....But since Gehl and Mustang have teamed/sold/hooked up with Manitou they have created their own breed.... not sure who or where they are made... maybe a manufacture actually building their own machine- haha

Please if anyone has one please tell me the good and the bad. The one thing I am uncertain of is the "automatic track tension system" Sounds good- but takes 8 seconds to get tight. 8 seconds would seem like a long time if you were starting and stopping the machine often....

-When you load on a trailer.... can you actually see or have an idea where your tracks are in correlation to the ramps? (I frown on the Gehl Wheel Machines for this)

-Can you see the bucket cutting edge? (I frown on the Gehl Wheel Machines for this)

-Controls twitchy? (there is a kit that Gehl makes to help slow the pilots down on wheeled machines but generally, I frown on the Gehl Wheel Machines for this)

-Ride- usually fixed tracks are rough... but expected... and way more cost effective (CAT/ASV ride very, very nice but WOW!!!!, such a short living and expensive track system, but the nice ride costs some $$$ to enjoy- bairproducts.com helps offset these costs)

They are incredible! Bucket visibility is excellent. Here are some links for you to go to:

And my favorite is this video series, It is nice to see such a thorough thought process in the engineering and design process: http://www.mustangmfg.com/MakeTracks/Walkaround.aspx

(Note: the track tension time? You are SUPPOSED to idle at least 2 and preferably 5 minutes when starting AND stopping a turbo charged diesel. We use that idling time to grease the machine)

They are good machines. The Anti stall makes the machine a beast. I know the self adjusting tracks are way over talked atleast in the south) because of our dirt, but they are simple strong machines.

At the farm we have a RT210 with about 400hrs on it now. It replaced a Gehl CTL60 (Tak TL130). Everyone that uses it agrees that it's a huge pos. The dealer knows we hate it as they bought back our V400 we bought at the same time because it sucked as well. Compared to the Tak which was smaller the RT210 has a lot of problems that just come down to weak performance even with the dealer doing everything they can. We just demo'd a Case TR270 and it's a far superior machine in both visibility, power, hydraulics, and how well it was thought out for maintenance.

The farm has been buying Gehl machines every couple years for a while now. The RT210 and the V400 we had ended that. The v400 was traded for a Case 321E mini wheel loader and the RT210 is going to get swapped for a Case TR. The last couple years the Gehl's have really gone down hill. We traded in a 7810 (awesome) and the CTL 60 on what we had now and expected good machines like in the past and are very disappointed.

I rep a dealer in MN and currently use the former MTL325 (Takeuchi). I'm hoping they come out with an RT3500 with 110+hp, although I haven't heard anything about that.

Mark13 demo a TR320, great push power and breakout. If you like the 270, the 320 is even more impressive.

I'm sure we will demo a 320 at some point or we will just end up getting one after everyone liked the 270. As long as we get a Case or a Takeuchi I don't think we can go wrong on our next CTL to replace the pos Gehl RT210.

Have you gone into your interface and Changed your speed control and hydraulic pressures? From the factory the machine will seem weak. Gold your interface button down for 7 seconds and start scrolling. Sorry to hear about your rt210.

We've messed with everything trying to get more out of it, the dealer has been helping us as well and still not much luck.

I have a Rt210. Absolutely hate some things about it. Visibility is good. Cab is very comfortable and roomy. Controls are horrible no matter how u adjust it on the dash. Very jumpy. When u let off of the forward control it keeps rolling. Machine has good power. At the end of a push if u hit a little pile of dirt it will kick down and push through it. That is not good when u are by a foundation. The quick tack plate is also mounted lower than most other machines. When u put a bucket off of another machine on it it will bring the tracks off of the ground when u go to cut grade. Even the bucket that comes with the machine brings the tracks off of the ground. Have to shim the boom stops to get the bucket that came with it to cut properly. Ac tensioner has failed twice in 275 hours. Yet another trip to the dealership. do not recommend this machine to anyone. Wish i would have bought the case 320 or a takeuchi.
