Taken last year.I did post this somewhere back then, but am trying to keep all the rusties in one thread,so some old posts before this in other threads will be re-filed back in here to be most relevant by topic.I've not run out of rust to share nor is this regurgitating old pics-just organizing, thanks!video at:http://youtu.be/-2SEAoVHtwM

Post number 3 with the young fella in the trucks. We are in that area right now working. I recognize the trucks. We found an old donkey up the hill from the trucks about 1000 feet. We were told about a loci that was in their as well. Haven't been able to find it. Any ideas?

Lost Logging Truck

The legend had it that there was an old Rubber tired truck left up on the old fore and aft road at Spry Camp (Port Alice B.C.). It was left there as the legend go's because 1 the plank road became undrivable. 2 The truck fell off the plank road and could not recovered. No one really knew where the truck was for years because of the large area that they logged and traces of the road are very hard to find. Well we opened up a block up there this fall and came upon it ,Or what was left of it.Notice the Driver sitting on a stump watching over the bones. The red dot on the map is were the truck sits notice it is on the 260 meter contour line.

Here you see whats left of the plank road, they made it out of Hemlock that was there. It has not really stood the test of time time as it was logged in the late 30's. What is left of the road continues well up the hill behind where the truck sits. And the down hill part is really hard to find over in the Alders. There is also tack that there may be another truck and a steam donkey left out there in another valley. But that seams unlikely as we have opened up several blocks that way and have only found broken pieces of yarders.

The last of the pictures. We high stumped the trees so they would not blow over and to protect what was left from the logging.
