Has anyone ever posted a picture or video of a truck with the 16v71 installed? I remember seeing the 3412 lowbed truck at Franklin River when I was a teenager but I've never seen one with the big Detroit installed.

Thanks, Reg

Barnhart Crane & rigging has 2 Pacific P-12W with the 16V-71 for power, Clark 16000 series trans -converter & Clark BD-121's out back. Both of these rigs came from the Almas International fleet. if you search thru there company web site for project photos, you will find them. http://www.barnhartcrane.com/index.html All the trucks have names like "Elvis", "Big Daddy", they also have a 6x6 P-12W3 which is a former Almas rig as well. Other prime movers include a Payhauler 350, IH 8066 (ex military), KW 848 & 849, C-500, Autocar DC-20364 & 10364and a pair of Oshkosh M-911 with BD-91 rear tandem.

Does anybody know where the trucks from Eve River Division went? I know what happened to four trucks.
H87 went to Port McNeill
H148 also went to Port McNeill and was eventually parted out
H294 I think was scrapped by Saratoga Ventures
H295 still at Menzies as a water truck
H57 scrapped at Saratoga Ventures
I don't know what happened to H22, H37, H41(came from Copper Canyon), H56, H298

I guess the fan picked up the spraying oil and threw it on the exhaust. If I remember correctly I think H11 had a bad cylinder head or their was lots of silver in the transmission screen, I remember them having a difficult time putting it on the lowbed when it left Eve. How do you post pictures on here? I haven't figured it out yet.

H-22 burnt up coming into the landing in Catherine Creek . I was on the hill setting chokers, Bob (Swede) Mellon was driving her. Just pulling up to loader when the smoke started billowing. He just climbed down the stairs and walked away.

BTC were you at Eve when we had the tri drives and Rick Rennie left his trailer hanging from the reload? He then drove halfway up the mainline before the dispatcher looks out his window, turns the radio to the repeater channel and asks Rick if it was his trailer hanging from the reload! Rick took a lot of ribbing for that one!

I didn't get any pictures HDX, was 17 years old and like most guys took for granted most of the stuff i was seeing i guess. I was already falling for a contractor at another operation when Rick left his trailer at the shop. That was around the time his truck went over at TN 34.

Hayesno1 H234 came to M&B Cameron Division new as a Glider in 1986 They got two of them H234 and H232 Both trucks had Budd front wheels till some time later when the Dayton hubs were installed H 232 was a P16 PreLoad and the 234 was as above Drivers name was Don McLaren he stayed on her till he retired and H232 driver was Al Horton He also stayed on 232 till he retired. Not long after he retired she was sold to a logging contractor and was destroyed in a wreck Driver was OK but old 232 came out on the short end of the scrap bin. A master mechanic named Doug Terry from WFP came down to the Cameron Shop Yard and bought H234 H141 also a P16 and another P16 unit #H 64 He got all 3 running in short order and low bedded them up to the north end of the island That was the last I saw of them till you posted this picture

Re. H234 HDX; thanks for some very interisting information and another mystery has been solved.
075; you are right about Holberg. Here is truck after she was painted in WFP colours and hot unit #2220. These pics were taken summer 2005 and again in Holberg.

075 I was sorry we didnt hook up but she was a flying trip in and out with just short stop at NIPPS and the Aristocrat Lunch counter. Then all the way back to the dry side of the island. I was sure impressed with the stuff I saw both WFP and LLL. Had to go check out a certain little HD with only one door!!!!! Yup still there and still safe. The Western trucks at McNeil sure look good. Reflects on what kind of drivers they have and the shop crew that maintains them all. I HAD some really nice Cat Yellow paint but I put it in a safe place. I talked to the driver of the truck that the engine came out of for just a minute while fueling up and I forgot to ask what unit number it was out of. I will find out so it can be engraved on the plate. It was like going home again with Mike Murphy and to finally meet Larry Bartlett. The whole place just reminded me of any M&B Shop Yard and Shop. You know where everything is in its place. It was a day I will never forget
