D5H TRANS.jpgD5H TRANS 2.jpgPEGSON PIC.jpg

so here is a new thread, if you guys like it i will continue to post pics of some of the work i do...explanation of pictures. The pegson track jaw was getting new swing jaw bearings and shaft. The other two are of a customer track skidder trans, one of the diff case and the other of the powershift partly disassembled. I didn't get to rebuild this one i disassembled it and gave them a quote it was to high so someone else did it cheaper. Later i got paid again to diagnose that reverse and second gear was leaking by (massive trans heat) i got paid to remove and disassemble again found piston housings for reverse and second had not been replaced as i had found the grooves in them where the seals ride, also two broken shaft seals that the last guy had broken on reassembly he warrantied nothing and the customer found a running take out trans for a third of the money i was going to charge for rebuild. It actually has worked well for them..

here is a project with lots of photos: Customer says machine does not vibrate. I pulled the hydraulic vibrator motor and shaft was broke because eccentric bearings were completely out in one side due to no oil..i removed drum and when i did the bearing for drum support fell off its shaft they were bad enough they broke the snap ring. I wish i had gotten a picture of installing the eccentric hub i forgot to bring rods to slide it in on so i tipped the drum on its end and lowered the hub down flat being sure i got both eccentrics on the same side of the drum.. I just posted in another thread about it. Get a photobucket account, and download the app that sends your pics straight to it. Then you can copy the link and post it here, already sized right.

http://s1167.photobucket.com/albums/q621/theironoracle/Snapbucket/ thanks jdofmemi, this is my first try from the i-phone, this was earlier this winter motor ran pumps didn't turn we suspected the flex coupler, after disassembly i found the funk drive box was out of oil and had dropped a bearing and ruined all of it, removed motor and funk drive box never once opened up the hydraulic system....beautiful day (or two) in the snow theironoracle

First off, personally I think these are the best and most interesting threads on the forum so please keep posting ! I love to see the real world, front line repairs done to all types of equipment. Thanks I know it takes time to post and do write-ups but its great to learn from. Since you asked, yes it's a little nicer to be able to see the pictures on the thread instead of clicking to a link but in the end I'll gladly look at either !
