Welding on a Wirtgen drum

Are there any special considerations in regards to welding on a Wirtgen drum, outside of the normal precautions taken when welding on the rest of the machine. Does the drum have to be removed and drained or can it be welded on the machine.

Nah don't waste your time pulling the drum, it's not necessary.

we just flip the battery switch and weld away never had any problems, however some people claim you can melt the seals in the planetary but i don't think this has ever happened.

you always want to disconnect your negative cables, then up top unplug your control boxes, all 5 of them..and youll be fine..common sense keep the ground cable close to your stinger too
