Just stuff done the last few weeks. Moved the ac180 in to set beams for 150 & 71 Highways

Had to take the swing out section of jib off.The beams were at the end of the chart.removing the jib gave the operator a little comfort zone

it was heavier than you think

I think you can see a theme because we have been setting beams all over the country lately.

Had two hydros up there because the 100 ton machine in the background had a broken wire going to the computer that they didn't find until we were done.

Interesting pics Tiny, thanks for sharing. I moved this thread to the crane forum form TGIF.

Do you have any more info on the "deckless" bridge beams that get overlaid with asphalt?

Its a different deal with these bridges. No normal decking lumber , Just set the beams and asphalt...They do get a concrete wall. Keiwit company is the prime on 550 bridge jobs .

This deal was started two years ago and so far they have 50 done.Trouble is Missouri is broke and Keiwit is fronting all this.So the 4 year time limit is probably a non factor.

But they went in with the idea of just a couple of designs that fit all.All these bridge have real short time limits.Longest we have had is 54 days so far.Its a nightmare for the job foreman to get the right stuff going and to keep making the next step.

It is hard on man power because these guys have been the same hands on everyone of these bridges this summer. The hands are tired.

Basically a lesser traveled bridge will get the box beams and asphalt and busy highways get conventional I beams and precast deck panels

I live/work off of 155th street so have been watching the new bridge at 150 highway.
Have you had anything to do with the 435 bridge they are putting in?

No Sir , I'm assuming your asking about the emergency repair job? A company named Pyramid is doing that one
