I was wondering if anyone has a mini skid with a backhoe.
I have a Bobcat 463 that I was thinking about getting the 406 backhoe for to do trenching and stuff where my bigger machines don't fit.
Anyone any experience with these?
Thanks

As long as you have the work to support it then its a winner. Every operation has a different set of needs. Does it meet your needs if yes then go for it. My only concern is the digging depth on some of these smaller models along with break out force.

my biggest complaint about having a backhoe attachment on a 463, would be getting in and out of the cab.
larger operators have enough trouble getting in and out without the backhoe in the way....

i think a better choice would be a small trencher attachment, or renting a small mini-x

the comment i heard about the mini skid backhoe attachment is they are much better than a shovel.
This was my immediate thought. :D You can't swing around like a mini-ex, your outriggers limit where you can work, extra weight makes it easier to get stuck, much less mobile, but............they are much better than a shovel.
