I was at a friends car and mechanic shop this week. He told me to look at that half ton chevy and tell him what's wrong. The guy brought it in for turn signals not working. It had the u bolts completely gone off one side of the rear axle and it was floating back and forth on the spring. He showed the guy and he said he didn't notice it driving any different. Evidently it had been that way for awhile if the drive hadn't changed.

Spud, looks like a converted camper frame trailer to me?
It was, I got it for free, no loss only gain in the end since it became part of the scrap pile.

If you know your metal well in looking at it and knowing what is there, you can go to any trailer sales place take a look at the one you want and build your own by looking at their design.

What scares me somewhat is understanding corrosion weakening of frames and support structures, seeing some of the overly priced offerings as to used Semi Trailers. If use them for lighter loads OK, but to put into duty hauling to GVWR Specs could be inviting disaster.
Looked at this one, HOOWEE, I walked away shaking my head. CANNOT Weld Rust, this beast already had fish plates on fish plates. Was an almost duplicate in Red overpaint to this, was even worse similar price as had FRESH Repaint trying to hide the problems.

1999 Talbert 48ft drop deck closed tandem trailer - heavy equipment... (craigslist.org)

40+ foot step deck but no need for greater than 45, preferably on air ride. Junkyard put me on to a trailer salesman in KC but nothing in the "Affordable Range" currently.

Wow I would of ran from that one and not much scares me.

Well, the winch on the neck looks pretty good.
Was a Braden 30k hydraulic winch or bigger ran by a 10 HP diesel engine. More winch than rig to hold it, pull the rig and the tree attached to it once, shouldn't have sold it.

Lesson learned, stay in your vehicle. If you get out of your vehicle, get off the road.
that is word.
Wife was driving across Snoqualmie Pass when the road went really bad. It was like a coat of wet latex paint. We round a bend and a semi is jackknifed and pinning two cars to the right guardrail in a right turn.
she slows and then I see the next truck driver arrive behind us doing 55 and flashing his lights. I tell her to punch it and then dive in behind the wreck.
That worked. The truck got through the gap and did not hit anybody. We are sitting there and getting our breath, and I see this woman out of her car about 40' ahead of us, thinking she is going back to help. ???
I tell my wife " she is going to get hit" and maybe 15 seconds later a car loses it around the wreck, past us, and then dribbles her off her own car and then the guardrail for good measure. All right in our window.
I'm who I am and jump out and get her across the guardrail. The state patrol was already there and said I got this, get out of here. Damn brave guy, he climbed up the super and peeked around and told me to go go go. I crawled out of there spinning tire, and as soon as I could turn around we went back home.
We covered her with our car blanket. She had compound fractures of her leg.

Stay in your car!

I won't go into detail-Rocky Cut I-90 MP 96.5. One I remember all to well, women's car was against left
guard rail on super turn, tried to cross on foot to right side of freeway. Slipped fell down stood up.

There was a imprint/outline of her body in the grille of a 4300.
