Barely, like depending on the day it's maybe 10-20 seconds sooner. It generally sticks around 170 on a normal day of not working too hard. The temps do seem low as that seems to be normal operating temp for other diesels i've had.
Have you checked the sender for the overheat light?
Should also check the engine temp with a temp gun, sounds like your guage is wrong
View attachment 273225 Pretty much got it back together today, started putting coolant back in and block heater plug started to leak so I said fawk it for the day and left, no idea why it's leaking now, I never touched it. What a pain in the a$$ to put back though with parts have to go back in certain order and no room to work, I think I spent about 6 hours on it. Here is what the oil cooler looked like, not clean but not anywhere as bad as that picture.
Sometimes **** happens. Even the best break stuff now and then.
