We are looking for that center gear (46 tooth) in the 3 gear system on the right side of the machine. It seems to be a common issue for these machines, we have 2 009s and they both have that issue. We use them as dredges for gravel.I have a customer who bought a Madill 009 parts machine who is looking to part it out. It came down to Bellingham, Washington on a barge from Prince of Wales Island, Alaska. If anyone is looking for parts let me know and I can put you in touch with the owner.View attachment 256232
Do you use one of the front guylines as a standing skyline? We are looking for that center gear (46 tooth) in the 3 gear system on the right side of the machine. It seems to be a common issue for these machines, we have 2 009s and they both have that issue. We use them as dredges for gravel.
That's correct, The skyline is on the front guylines with a locking pin. That system is a lot better then the saurman style or the 046 Madill. You never have to worry about slack on your skyline unless a anchor moves.Do you use one of the front guylines as a standing skyline?
I've got a dandy 737 that would be a perfect rock drag. That's correct, The skyline is on the front guylines with a locking pin. That system is a lot better then the saurman style or the 046 Madill. You never have to worry about slack on your skyline unless a anchor moves.
Good tip.Modern Machinery in Rochester has all the schematics.
Call & ask for Jeff Bell, tell him Darren sent you.
Get a copy of that gear schematic & then contact RD Olson machine in Kelso WA to cut it.
For us, we removed the straw drum altogether. For dredging we have no use for it. I remember the first time the hallback clutch blow, seeing the line come in from the hallback tension brake, I took the whole tension brake apart thinking the clutch was behind there (that was before we took the straw drum off) learned pretty fast that the clutch was on the other side of the machine and the line I saw went through the hallback shaft. Those 46 tooth gears were a pretty good money maker for us service guys. Work all day in the shop and all night travelling to machine Re&RE gear and travel back. Customers were always happy because we would have them up and running for the next day. Worst part of the job was having to pull the straw drum as I recall. And I hate gear dope. d.d.
