I have a Braden Amsu3-10f can the input shaft and worm be pulled and turned around so the winch can be fliped over and the input will still be on the bottom? On most winches does it matter which way it pulls or what way its input is spun to pull?

Looks like there are right hand and left hand gear sets. Are you trying to mount the winch upside down, or change the input direction, I'm not sure what you're trying to do.

A typical worm gear will not move either direction without power, so that's why the free spool on the old braden's is separate.

These guys were really helpful to me with parts for a old braden on my winch truck. They knew what they were talking about- and oilfield is where most of those old braden's got worked hard.

Right now if i put it behind my truck cab the input is on the lower RH pass side and its pointed at my hoist tank/pump and valve. I want it to be on the lower drivers side so the will be easyer. I will be useing the same pto as the hoist with a 3 speed car trans mounted to the winch i did this before but i had a winch that was already right. I could move the hyd unit to the other side and chain drive it from the winches pto shafj that is looking like the thing to do.
