After attending Conexpo this year, it seems that scraper popularity is back. There were many manufacturers showing off their pans. The vibe I got for the earthmoving industry, was that there seems to be a shift towards the ADT's Pulling Pans.
Something like this may be the future to use up the existing ADT's in the operators fleets as a more effective method than toploading them with an excavator:

There was one at the show in Edgerton, WI last year matching the one at the start of the video. It was brand new and we never got to scratch the paint in the bowl. The steel with rubber belt, Mennonite style wheels on the 4 wheel drive push tractor was interesting.
