580K pics

this machine keeps my wrenches busy. Changeing the steel lines from valve body for the outrigger was like a puzzle. I had to take a break and calm down a couple of times. ran outa curses and had to start making up some new ones.

Late 80's 580K, 4 wheel drive, 4 in 1 bucket, extendahoe, 2 lever controls converted from the 4 stick/foot swing, no turbo, open cab. good old machine

I'll add some pics since I've always loved backhoes. I find them to be one of the most versatile machines.

This is my 08 420E w/ only 8.1 hours on it. Neither bucket has dug into the ground.

I also have a 04 420D w/ ~1100 hours which is my main backhoe. I just can't bring myself to use the E yet. We also have an 01 420D w/ close to 3200 hours which is now just a yard machine.

My New Holland

Just a plain no frills work machine but Hollie is my first backhoe and I really like her.

In the low 70K's. We just know how to haggle real well. They dropped the price 8K in order to keep our business  We told the cat salesman that we had a Komatsu salesman bring a 146 to the shop for us to try and he was priced at 71K, so either match it or come close. Needless to say the price difference was a couple hundred in the end, even with the flip back forks. Its got all the bells & whistles besides ride control.

:notworthy Sweetness! Its well worth mentioning that they're all IT's! How do you like the IT's? That is a 10K option that I would love to have one day, but the only thing we can justify having it for is the forks, and we have a set of forks for every backhoe.

We love the IT's although we too only use the forks. It's much better then using the forks that clamp on the bucket, which we use to use when he had an entire fleet of old Ford 755's with four lever mechanical controls ....... those were classics :D
