    Post pictures of Pacific trucks in the logging industry.:canada I thought I better close the gap/ring of huge logging trucks so all makes are represented. Here are some LLL P16 models at Port McNeill.

    We hired a guy a couple years ago with two Pacific's like these. His where dump trucks though. I'd never seen or heard of them before. They were a tough, hell for stout truck though.
    The best thing was they woulkd haul twice as much as a hiway truck, and he only charged us 5 dollars an hour more than his hiway truck we had hired!

    Nice to see that those pre loaders have Pacific trailers, ( can tell by the spring on the out side of the leg ). most were columbia trailers.
    here is a 1973 P-16, (small windows), and a 1977 and 78 P-16s. the 73 is hauling poles, an extra reach was added to make it 55' between bunks.

    Here some pics of Western Forest Products huge P12 model maybe even a P12W - W indicates wide frame 40". Look at rear end of dump. Can any tell me the intension for this construction? Zeballos 2005.

    Another Pacific domp truck. This is a P16 (it got I-beam frame). Owner is LLL, Port McNeill. This truck could be some kind of rebuild truck as fenders, radiator guard and bumper looks like they are fro a Hayes HDX.:confused:

    Hayesno1 I have seen this box around before Maybe from an HDX down at M&B Shawnigan Division As for the truck NOPE all homade the front bumper is a Hayes knockoff as is the fenders See the bumper pin and look at the two front bumper ends For sure home made good job though I think that under the home made front bumper you would find the tube type Pacific bumper or at least parts of it

    Hayes,

    Those red trucks look just like the ones we had hired. (Only the paint aint the same). They had the same high sided boxes, but they had real tailgates. Those things you were asking about on the rear of the boxes would act like a beaver tail, to kinda hold material in the bed, in place of the tailgate, being the beds had a flat floor, unlike the green and white trucks.

    I thought the same thing about the box extension, but also had another thought. It looks like it would stick down just about right to be able to dump a load of road gravel, or whatever, then back up using it like a dozer to spread the load. Sounds like something a logger would do.

    1974 Pacific P16 preloader. GM 12V71N engine, Allison electric shift CLBT5960 transmission, spring suspension, Clark #91,000 rear axles, Dayton wheels, 14:00 X 25 tires. Unit equipped with 1970 Columbia LT50 pre load trailer c/w: 2 X 14’ bunks, Truck is for sale at present time.
    Pics were shot this summer. Coulson unit #H3

    Hayesno1 Yes that Preload trailer was from Sproat Lake Division when those guys cleaned that Division out. I think it might have been on one of the trucks when it left there. Those trailer dogs have the Maxi Booster instead of the manual chain and pin system so the driver can operate it from within the cab rather than climbing out and pulling the pins and flipping the dogs over by hand so the trailer can be streched out. This was a good system TILL a log loader hit that with a log and everything kind of flew apart. Also would freeze up in the winter sometimes.

    Anyone know what happened to the Pacific pre-loads H-323, H-324, H-325 & H-326 after they left Sproat Lake Division? I remember them when they came as brand new in 1976.

    Jackd Think Lamar Lake Logging in PT McNeil got them They got just about everything in the Valley here except a few fell through their hands and Hayes Forest got them. Also some sold to Mars Cont and one to Dan Larose in Duncan(H321 Preload) now owned by Dorman Timber

    pacific truck manufacturing inc, is in new westminister bc canada and will still build you a new truck or refurbish old trucks .you can order any parts from them . larry mcnutt is the parts man thats worked there for 35 or so years.604 517 1100. if you buy a pacific truck, you will wear out before the truck will .......:)

    Just a quick question.

    Looking at the photo of the P-12 chip truck in Zeballos (post #5) it seems that the cab on the Gold River P-12 chip truck (post #17) is raised about a foot. Not sure if this is stock or local shop? Anyone got some info on this? Doesn't seem to need it for the engine clearance. Perhaps visibility? It adds quite the slope to the hood, looks decidedly different.
