Sure lots of juicers that ended their days like that. Line machines used to catch fire sometimes, too, but most of them were up and running again within a month. The newer ones were another matter, though, with the hydraulic carrier and swing. They burn almost as bad as juicers.

Murk100 That P16 was from Massachie Lake I think Pacific Logging or something I remember the driver (Norm I think ) they would haul different contractors equipment for them Use to see Norm from time to time then he retired and H140 kind of dissapeared

I'm not sure of the history on this Truck, this pic is from a buddy I'll ask him I remember when I worked for PCB at Franklin they bought 2 or 3 new Pacifics around 1985 this may have been one of them..:beatsme

This was somewhere in Alberta, the guy lived if I remember right. He was talking on his cell phone and ran into the slow moving hook truck.

I wish I had pictures. But I ended up really lucky 2 winters ago. We were workin in this area called Grass Lake in like December/January. We were movin the equipment out to get them loaded up on the truck and sent to the yard. One of my boss's started walkin the Timbco out and I was following along behind in my delimber. We came upon about a 300 yard section of the road that went down hill with a outslope....covered in about 2 inches of ice. The Timbco was just truckin along...had great traction. So i started down behind. Way diffrent....spent the first 150 yards tryin to crawl up the bank to stay on the road. I hit this one section were i started slidin really bad and well....there was nothing I could do. Over a 25' bank I went and rolled on my top. luckly i pushed over a 6' snow berm that acted like a cushion and I went over. I'm in a wad on the top of my cab tryin to reach up to hit the key. Actually had to use the emergency hatch to get out. took us all day to get her back on her tracks. That night my boss bought me a bottle of Jim and some Icy hot lol

Not too sure how this happen I guess it had something to do with stumps!!! A friend sent me the pics and said he was up and going within a week no damage to the tower just a new stabilizing frame, there was more damage to the shovel and I guess the Yarder and shovel operators pants!!!!.

I cant imagine someof these accidents. When I slid the D5B at work off the lowboy a couple years ago Was bad enough. That pickup on the logs reminded me earlier this year we had a former County Supervisor That had his legs removed from diatbetes. He drove a regular van by using a cane to run the pedals. A truck with a 16 foot overhang of pulp poles was stopped for a turn off when he hit them. It was the worst wreck Ive ever seen.

Another 171 with bent stabilizer bar. Had this one going in a day & a half, all good apart from young operator who was constantly calling me saying it didnt feel right. He was back to normal after three days.ointhead

Only one Madill 171 was built on Self-Propelled Rubber, and this is her! Sold new to Kelly Brothers (on the Southern Oregon Coast) around 1988/89, then in 2001 I ran into it working at Vail Washington for Weyerhaeuser there up the Skookumchuck River. Hear it went overseas shortly after.

When did you aquire her, and can you post a bunch of pics in the Madill thread, I'd sure like to see pics of here nowdays!

One of my customers Montana Logging owns this wonderful machine. They bought it from another company here in NZ that were responsible for bringing it in. They have owned it now for approx 4 or 5 years. I will now post some more photos in Madill thread.

Yes I have seen that picture. I took a copy to owner recently to show how it looked when new. Unfortunatley it is a little worse for wear at moment after this incident(mainly panel damage). It still operates fine though.
