Those kinds of events are always gut-wrenching. It's all too common to overlook the worst case scenarios when the excitement of getting a job done clouds the senses.

Not too long ago a family around here lost a young child when a large tree was blown down. The father was using a chainsaw to cut the fallen tree up and his son decided to play in the hole the root ball created when the tree fell. When the tree trunk was severed from the base, the root ball fell back into the hole crushing the child.

I doubt the things the press focused on like the guns and pot and much to do with the cave-in accident. In a less sensational time the press probably wouldn't even have printed that part of the story.

The accident was a tragedy, not another excuse to forward an agenda. My sympathies to the families involved.
