What engine?

Ed
title says ford engine. so its probably a 4cylinder ford.

first i'd check the wires and make sure nothing came loose. then physically pull a spark plug boot off to see if there is no spark. from there, backtrack the ignition system to see if its getting power. maybe have to jumper power to ignition to see if that gets it going. you'll probably need to get a electrical schematic.

If it's an older 2.3l (Pinto engine) they are a pita to diagnose past a broken timing belt.

All the procedures lead back to "Replace with known good part".

IME, it's either the belt or ignition module.

remove distributor cap. does rotor turn when cranking? that would show a broken belt? or is it the newer ford efi?

If you can find out what engine it is, then you can look up whether it's interference or not. Even if it's an interference engine, you might have gotten lucky.
